I'd like to say thanks to all the SME's on this board. Though the mounds of bullshit this forum contains a goldmine of information.
I hit my first million today in savings.
I'm posting this to let everyone know it's possible. Keep moving.
Thoughts:
1. I hate everything about guerilla's lifestyle and opinions, but I respect his knowledge and subtle hints. You should too.
2. I was successful for years in terms of financial average. I was a BI Consultant for SAP working the grind. My son was born. I realized it wasn't enough, I wasn't happy. I realized I had severe focus issues. I was prescribed dexedrine. In two years I've stood up three companies, and posting this now. Was it my son's birth or the dex? No clue. I always had the ideas, and knowledge. I never had the drive to complete. The difference now is when I have an idea, I become obsessive and complete it. Dexedrine/my son changed my life.
3. I've never done affiliate marketing. I like to view this place as a group of people with one common goal to generate money online. There are a handful of people here I've dealt with that changed my life as well.
4. Google Penguin. As with anything.. Things change. Google used to only care about links. Now they care about Unique content and High Quality sites + Social triggers + Bookmarking with rotating text that mean the same thing (example: best, top, etc.). Homepage High PR links. Don't Xrumer or link from linkfarms, other obvious post panda shit. Pretty clear cut stuff. Unique Content = High Quality websites = Brands = Large footprint = Brand Social Media Profiles = Backlinks revolving around brand. ESTABLISH A BRAND. Type your "brand" name into google, does google give you a "brand" listing? Get it? Once you have a brand you have trust, and the bookmarking packages work. There is no 100% full proof strategy, but this has worked for me. Also I noticed top 10 articles are generating serious traffic, and limit your use of header tags and rather use font css style.
5. Fuckin' dickrolls
6. Sharebrain.info
7. Mobile apps were/still a wave. SaaS is one of the next large waves.
8. Invest in Amazon
9. I'll post more later but it's thirsty thursday and the bar is calling
