For those of you who weren't aware, on January 26th an exemption expired in the DMCA act that made iPhone unlocking illegal.
Despite the fact that most of the public and the White House believe unlocking should be legal, the telecom companies pressured Congress into letting this exemption expire.
So basically they decreed that we do not actually "own" our phones.
Not too mention all of the iPhone jailbreak affiliates who have been affected by this draconian law as many networks pulled their jailbreak offers in response.
Fortunately there is a bill that has been introduced to Congress that will make cell phone unlocking legal again and we can take back ownership of our phones. Please support it.
