Making money with Android Apps

The fact that it is not! But you can believe this article that is not about making money for ordinary people.

What's the point to argue if you don't even know anything about this? Try to go this way, make an app, register as developer, GET YOUR APP APPROVED and then we can talk about what is the fact.

It's like steroid. Do you want steroid or steroids? ios is like steroid, but android is like steroid too. But together they can both be like steroids.

Wrong. The amount of $$ iOS users spend on apps and in-game shit outnumbers Android like 4:1. Apple has the largest DB of live credit cards in the world... if you have an iOS device, then your CC is probably tied to it

Yep, I found it even worse in my personal experience. iPhone users are just richer or quicker to spend money on an app.

My business these days is Android app dev for companies around Ireland. Every 2nd idiot company seems to want an app these days.

My price varies from €5k to €15k and I'm flat out. How popular does your app need to be to make that in a year in the Android Market? (sorry, 'play' market, what a retarded re-brand Google).

Guys, once again. I'm not talking about making another Angry Birds and sell it. If you are a company making apps than your right choice is iPhone. I spend from 15 min to 3-4 hours (If I already created templates of course) to make an app. Yes, 15 min!!! How you are going to earn any money with that apps on iPhone? They won't get to AppStore in any way. Here is example of how I make app in 3 min, just posted today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu1Z8HxKEHs

The other side is advertising. You won't be able to use something like these ads on Iphone Sneaky Mobile Ads Invade Android Phones | PCWorld
Your app will be banned! That's it. You can use AdMob (that is Google company), they pay just cents to you, the don't give a shit if something is got wrong for the several days they cannot show ads in your apps. That's the worst company to deal with.

Want to re-new this topic. There was some great news, Appsgeyser did interview with me Interview About the AppsGeyser Partner Program AppsGeyser Blog

And I have ebook now eBook "How to Create an App and Start Earning Money in 7 Days". I'm ready to give 100% of the sales of this ebook to everyone willing to sell it.

And I'm still open to help you earn money with apps absolutely for free. There many things changed and are changing on this market.

Cheers,

So the entire point of this thread is to push your e-book? No fucking thanks.

Hey I'm making android games but not making money yet. Basically I've spent over a year making an RPG that's not finished, and I just took a break to whip out a kids game and may extend the break to keep whipping out small games that can be completed in a short period. If I only put 100 hours into a simple game I don't have to make a lot for it to be a successful hourly wage for me.

From what I've been reading over the past 2 years I've been developing is the iOS store is far more successful for more developers than android, because Google Play store doesn't promote apps the way Apple is.

I'm developing for android because I can't afford to buy a mac, iOS tablet, and iOS phone because they cost way more than comparable hardware the runs android.

This company consists of a married couple who has made over 1.5million dollars per year since 2009 and they stopped developing for android in place of iOS: Mika Mobile: Our Future with Android

There are pro's and cons to both. Android has over 500 devices that run android, and your game likely won't run on half of those, people who have the devices that won't run your game will give you 1 star in the app store, costing you more in future sales than you made off the burned customer. You can't afford to buy all 500 devices to test them all, and even phones that will run your game will often come up with odd issues with some random shader or some artifact that doesn't show up on any other devices.

In app purchases are by far the most successful model as sleazy as it is. I've seen beta games in Google Play that have comments from users saying they spent $50 in IAP and when they got a new phone they lost all their credits because it wasn't stored serverside, so they were complaining. I thought the game looked unfinished yet people were spending large amounts of money in it.

Hopefully the OUYA console is successful, I can't wait to target it, as weak as everyone says it is, it has way more power than the kindle fire and samsung 4g I'm currently developing on.

iOS is just a total waste of time. It's really hard to make there money unless you are a App company

I agree with you. But, I've heard that people are making good money by making games for iOS. eg. Temple Runner or Angry Birds. These games initially were developed for iOS, but later on were made for android.

Anyway, I think making games is a dominant way these days, to make good money. Probably, that is why android market was rename to play market by google.

iOS market is potentially better but more saturated with apps. Some developers with a successful app stopped supporting android because it was 20% of their income when the same game was in both stores, and the android required most of their time due to it's fragmentation(debugging and patching for obscure phones). Mika Mobile: Our Future with Android I should mention that developer(mika mobile) consists of a young married couple, 2 artists that have been making $1.5mil per year since 2009 in the app stores.

Android devices are fragmented, more than 500 different phones, my apps will run on around 100 of those, I can't afford to buy 100 phones to verify, but if I release to phones where it breaks I get 1 star ratings costing more than just not selling to those people.

I'm developing for android because I can't afford to get into the iOS market, and hoping the ouya works out. I do plan to port my games to iOS when I have money though. I bought a used apple computer, but it's too slow to develop with, I plan to use it to port the game with, but then I still need apple phone and ipad to test with which costs a lot more than my kindle fire and samsung 4g phone.

I should add with Android there are a couple good things for developers. The kindle store and Nook color's store, while they don't have the largest market, have a much less saturated (by developers) market. I know people who do best on those two stores because there aren't that many games for them, relative to Google Play or iOS store. Potentially the ouya could be another market.
