making my own website blog? please help!

so i've this website, lets say it's myurl.com

if i set up myurl.com/blog, and post articles on it, does it help my SEO? what thing do i have to take note of when i'm posting the articles there? is it that i can only post one a day? or several?
 


Blog will help you. You will have fresh up-to-date content which is a good thing. Total number of pages will increase which is another benefit. If you are able to post several posts a day and keep it like this over the time then I don't see why shouldn't you do it.
 
Its also important to have 'friendly' url structures in place. If your using wordpress then goto your permalinks page within your control panel, select custom structure and put "/%postname%" in the text field without the quotation marks.

Some may not feel its ideal but its alot better than the default structure.

There are a tonne of things to do with blogging that you should know but a few google searches will uncover most of the information.
 
Use it to link to other content on your site using good anchor text which will help those pages some.

Let's say your site is about donkey clothing and you have a page specifically about donkey sweaters. You can write a good blog post about how cold winter is and how your donkey is going to need a warm [donkey sweater] -> link to your donkey sweater page.
