Marketing a book in an affiliate program

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has any experience marketing a book online. Any possible conversion rates? A friend of mine just finished writing a book and was thinking of doing an affiliate program. The book will retail around $20.00. The book is not an ebook. What do you think should be an appropriate pay out? Any feedback would be great.

Don't most publishers restrict online sales? Just curious.

You could do cost per action, and use the affiliates to drive new signups to your membership club. Then take it upon yourself to sell to your list. That way you might spend less money on the affiliate program, and potentially earn more money with direct sales.
