Media Buying Ask Me Anything, Ho Ho Holidays

Why do you think this is? I always thought testing was pretty much a given so I'm curious as to why you think some people are so quick to ignore it. Too time consuming?

as someone who doesn't care about tracking and split testing A/B ads, i can confirm it's a combo of laziness and stupidity. i still do not understanding what the fuck a tracking postback pixel is. i just rely on my epic copywriting skills, because in the end, im gonna make money anyways on both ads A and B :pimp:

Whats your best ROI and Profit you did in one day or lets say in a month? and from mobile cpa or desktop ... PPV or PPC?

What are the best RTB Platforms to use? I was checking out sitescout but figured I would ask a guru like yourself.

If you are making money with that approach then you are a talented copywriter, but you are leaving a MASSIVE amount of money on the table. You need to partner up with someone who is a dedicated tester and you will make a shit load more money with little to no effort on your part.

I'll chime in on this one, though I'm sure Max has his own answer.
"Best" is kind of a dirty word. There is no "best". There is best "for this placement" or best "for this offer", but rarely "best".

Are you after bulk traffic? More niched traffic? Are you advertising something that other advertisers also are on the same placement? Those types of things matter.
For example: (If I remember right) engageBDR will go to the mat for first impression on a domain, which is the most valuable impression..but that value gets increased more if other advertisers are going to be advertising the same product you are on the same placement. If you're less likely to have overlap or have thinner margins, another RTB might work just as well.

And yes, Sitescout is the shit.

If you know you should be and you're not, it's lazy not stupid.
Look at it this way: There are people like me who are terrible at copywriting, and they can still get campaigns to work and be very, very profitable. If that's the case, think about what you could do overcoming that laziness.
You're "making money", but you could be making a shit ton more with not that much effort. That means more scaling, and more cashflow, which means you can make more in the future too.
This is not the kind of thing where an increase in profit is only an increase in profit. It's also an increase in future potential, which increases the future potential past that even further. I don't know if exponential is the right word, but it's damn close.

tldr; Get off your ass and split test.

I won't answer that, it's personal. I don't believe in sharing that information.

As Mike said, best is really subjective. There are a lot of great platforms out there like Sitescout, Engage BDR, Lean Market, and tons of others. At the end of the day the platforms all offer similar things, it comes down to bells and whistles and account management and support. You should pick the one that you connect with best personally.

What service or program do you use to do your split tests? I know of unbounce, but do you have any other personal recommendations?

Visual Website Optimizer is pretty great as well...

Amen

Any good posters on WF regarding media buying except yourself, Jon, smaxor, mpbiz, dickarmy, xmcp123, adhustler and sumitdhawan?

Good luck bro.

There are tons of great buyers on here. Just look back through the archives...

What's a (relatively) easy vertical to get started on on an RTB platform?

Most verticals are "easy" it's all about finding your angle, the right approach and the right sources. In terms of low financial commitment, find offers that have a low CPA, that way you can get statistically significant data quickly to optimize campaigns. The gains may not be as drastic and the volume may be lower but it's a good way to get your feet wet at first. Plus when you have something that works like that you can often scale it into large campaigns
