Hi all,

I have a few sites in the UK that I want to expand out with affiliate marketing. Ive never done this before thus the total n00b question...

As a merchant, where do i start? Do I join a network or should I use affiliate software and gather you guys up manually?

I have a new site appearing soon and I want the advertising/marketing to be totally affiliate driven rather than me spending 1000's on ad's.

The sign up for this new site will be £5.00 and from that I was looking to give successful signups from the affils .50p

Is .50p an insult to an affiliate, or am i giving money away?

As you can tell Im very n00bie to affiliate and would appreciate any help and advice.

Cheers
Dave.

Hi Dave,
If you have a merchant account already meaning you can accept credit card orders, you will need software to track your affiliates. If you don't have a merchant account then I would suggest clickbankdotcom. It will take credit card orders for you and has a built in affiliate program. With clickbank you can set a percentage amount that your affiliate would receive. I would suggest not to go any lower than 50% of each sale to attract a good army of affiliates. Hope this helps.
