As happy as I am to see townsfolk rise up and kick out the guvamint, why the hell don't those poor bastards just get up and move? Is there really no place in Mexico to go to?

their mindsets are not that of expats in thailand. I'm guessing if they had the balls to kick the govt out, they had some srs emotional attachment to their land.
otherwise that would've probably been the very first thing they would've done, would've been some 3 sentences about another town getting stomped flat somewhere, and the dominant threads would be jebus vs no jebus like the good old days right about now.
