Hi guys, i just signed up, and i have a few questions. I DID read all of your rules (well, MOST of them, at least), but still need some clarification.

First off, we're not marketers. We're developers who have worked with marketers before. We just released some website systems that we're sharing, and that's 1 of the reasons i signed up here -to share that info, and because i seen a "developer forum", and couldn't resist participating.

So, my biggest question is: "is the BST forum a PAID forum"? I signed up to Warrior Forum 2 days ago, and paid 80$ to post a "special offer" in their forum, and today it's on PAGE 4!!! So i wasted 80$ :(... I want to make sure that BEFORE i post a thread in BST that i am not breaking any rules by not ASKING for permission first, and by not PAYING for it first.

My second question is: "Can we sell some of our domain names, AND website systems, and other services (eg, our PPC Network), in that forum"? I don't want to assume that it's ok, and find out that 1 of them is ok, but not the other. Or, a far better question would be: "could we post a special offer to WickedFire Memebers" to get credits to use on our Ad Network or to use to run our systems on their website without ads showing up? That would probably be better, as there would only be a need for 1 single post (except, i think that you guys said that domain names have to be given a separate thread).

My third question is: "I seen a 'review copies' thread, but how does that get handled"? Do i post an item for sale, and then PM a moderator to tell them to look at it, or what? Also, a domain name cannot really be given away as a "review copy", for obvious reasons. And, our website systems are already free, so how would that work?

This seems like a MUCH more "well maintained" forum, and i think i'll be sticking around this one (the other ones are full of spam). This one also has a great -and liberal- atmosphere.

Thanks in advance.

The BST is not a paid forum. The Warrior Forum is an incestuous orgy of "money making products", not a place for any self-respecting "developer".

Review copies are given out from your own main BST thread. I guess you could mention in the thread that there's a free trial.

Yeah, i have never been to a marketing forum before. I guess they seen me coming... We ran out of money BEFORE we got our products and services ready to start letting the public use them, so now we can't afford to pay someone to market for us, or launch any big ad campaigns, etc; so now we get to learn how to sell our own stuff. That's SCARY! I'm autistic, so i really don't understand people at all, much less how to sell to them... Oh well, here goes nothing :D. BTW, it's not really a free trial, you can use them for free forever, if you want; but i got your point and i will do that.

Thanks for the explanation!

Yes I agree they will kick you away if they see that no replying to you to order.
That was the hardest part..

Yeah, i know nothing at all about marketing, so i thought that it was going to be worth the money. Instead i see that it's only profitable for THEM. They're great marketers: they got me for 80$.

I'm starting to learn a lot about the behavior of most (maybe not all) marketers, and it kinda makes me sick... It's like "man, i don't want to become one of THEM, just to get people to use my company's software...".

Marketing is about finding a need and building or creating something to fill that gap. The problem is that so many people NEED money and these bottom feeders prey on them in their time of weakness.

The flipside however is that if you can really build something of huge value to your market, then promoting this product should feel good because you're helping people with it.

Marketing will be necessary to get your products/services out there. But there is plenty of free info out there to study first
