I saw a protest by a religious sect that thinks the world should respect them without earning that respect become increasingly angry and volatile and then start attacking the few police who were standing by, and then get the shit beaten out of them when the police reinforcements arrived.

Because you're posting things that aren't information or news - merely affirmation, so that those who have decided "all muslims are terrorists" or whatever can nod and reassure themselves that they're right.

This is a symptom of epistemic closure - the situation of living with a belief that is so strongly held, you will only pay attention to information that confirms it, and even if presented with evidence to the contrary, you will deepen your resolve.

Epistemic closure is one of the key requirements of fundamentalism. Just because the belief you've chosen doesn't involve Sharia law, it doesn't make it benign.

Ah ... a mind reader eh? You might do well to think less about epistemology and have a peek at Islamic eschatology. And as it happens my 'belief' about Islam is pretty static these days: Islam, like all religion, is fucked-up.

Please, that kind of misunderstood liberalism is very dangerous. You're advocating the same kind of cultural relativism that has been the entire reason for Europe/Australias huge immigration problems. There's civil war boiling just beneath the surface but you don't see it. All it takes is one wrong move by some cop who kills a muslim thug and they will riot, not just locally but from England to France to Denmark to Sydney.

Islam is the worst ideology on the face of the earth. It's the exact anti-thesis to any kind of liberty. I really can't understand why some people feel the need to defend this kind of barbary.
