I played every single game in the CoD series except Black Ops because the reviews were so bad. Not sure what to think about this one but the trailer is typical. Would like to see some actual game play footage. Everyone keeps saying BF3 will be better though.
 


I actually even enjoyes the CoD singler player (also did not buy black ops).

But this trailer is somehow... I don't know. It looks just fake/boxy at times.
The trailer for BF3 has me salivating. This doesn't.

The graphics still look the same as MW1.. Everything looks just recycled / rehashed. problem is a lot of the original guys that made COD what it is, aren't there anymore. BF3 releases just before MW3, if it's as good as it looks, bye bye COD.

Why is COD:BO so bad? Can you provide specific details? I haven't played it, but the gaming media gave it decent reviews. Though obviously these gaming media reviews should be taken with a grain of salt since I have no doubt that EA paid them off.

I have played Call Of Duty: Worlds at War, Mordern Warefare and Black Ops, and I don't think Black Ops is any worse - infact, the online game play is pretty addictive.

With that said, I just sold my PS3 (only console system). Too busy and have other productive things to do then play video games. But I'll get a PS4 when it comes ought out. (PS4 coming in another 3-4 years or so)
 
I bought PS3 Black ops because Modern Warfare 2 became unplayable online with all the asshat cheaters. People just sit in one spot and spin around using some auto kill program. Or teleport the entire enemy team to one spot so they get slay you all at once. It's pretty funny at first, but fucking annoying after that.

There isn't too much difference once you get to know the maps in Blackops, although i do miss the "open field" map in MW2. The main difference for me is the gun balance. Scar-H in MW2 pretty much owns all the others, with literally no recoil. Where as in Black Ops they are slightly more balanced. Oh and no more shotgun as secondary.
 
Black Ops for the Zombie maps. Probably get MW# just to finish the story.
 
Anyone who says CoD is dead should take a peak at the sales #'s they are reaching every release of a new version...

BF3 on the PC is just looking amazing right now..... I've always loved flying the planes and choppers in BF and imo it's just a far better game than COD, always has been.

Even BF1942 was great!.

They've reached their peak in black ops, possssibly in MW3, but I can't see them surpassing it after.

The COD series was great all the way up to and including COD4 (modern warfare 1).

  • Then treyarc put out COD WAW (world at war), which was COD4 with new maps geared towards WW2. Same exact game play, nothing new.
  • Then shit really hit the fan for PC players when InfinityWard put out MW2. It was basically a direct console port. No dedicated fucking servers, it was P2P.
  • Then treyarc put out Black Ops, they brought back dedicated servers but gave exclusive dedicated server rights to gameservers.com (meaning if you want your own dedicated server, you have to buy it through gameservers.com).

..and now MW3 (mind you, still no actual game play) but the pre-scripted scenes they're showing so far looks like they haven't bothered upgrading graphics and it still looks like the same experience.

PC players are just bitter (understandably so) that they keep getting shafted with the dedicated server issues and I guarantee you now with BF3 (have already seen it happening), it's become crystal clear that the COD franchise is simply milking it for all it's worth. They haven't bothered doing anything innovative since MW1.

This ^^ is why I'll never buy a CoD game again.
 
CoD is wack! BF3 multiplayer will dust MW3, w/o a doubt. Still to this day the greatest multiplayer game is BF 1942, the reason, well because it was REVOLUTIONARY, something CoD lacks, especially in multiplayer.
