No, thats not my site, so its not a self-plug, its the site of the designer for that layout.

I'd like a few suggestions on it please, if all your going to say is "It sucks" and not tell me why, I'd rather you not post.

That's the first draft of my desired layout, so far my changes include the following:

- Remove lines around sidebar
- New header image
- Cool RSS feed button
- Remove all stripes
- Whiter area around content (maybe white?)
- Navbar better?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)
 


I'd make the post area a little wider and justify everything more to the middle. Maybe add one more color in it as a highlight...there's a lot of blue.

I think the nav is so white that it looks like a white pagebreak between the top & bot.

My 2 cents.

Everything else looks decent.
 
That's a loooot of blue, but it isn't terrible. But what do I know? I'm no designer by any means. But it doesn't look exactly the same as every other blog out there, so I'm a fan.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

It does look pretty decent though I dont want to say to much seeings that it has not been diced up and actually coded into a workable template.

Id like to see it when its done...

I like the look of the one in your sig better.

I prefer more white on a blog. Easier on my old eyeballs.
 
Original has too much white for me...
New version has too much blue. Some white BG on text as you mention would be better
 
I'll agree that it looks like my design, but it's no more than some strong inspiration. I think it could use some work: a second color, a new body font, and that logo could use some work. Comic Sans FTL.
