My first site

WOW - Berto just annihilated all the junk e-books that promise overnight riches with the interwebs with solid, actionable to-do items. Well played sir. If I had some rep left Id send it your way.

Without asking you to completely out your methods, can I just ask if a shit ton of backlinks that would otherwise sandbox a new site actually be a benefit to a landing page? If I am purely aiming to drive traffic with PPC and didn't care if I got sandboxed, would 1000s of links to a new site help or hurt my QS (in your experienced opinion)?

Heh thanks guys. The OP caught me on a good week. New campaign just gave me a nice little raise.

Anyway, no clue on the QS vs. Sandbox. That's something you should ask in a new newbie thread if nobody answers. I'm sure a few people here have been sandboxed and will have noticed their QS moving or not.

I'm not sure what your definition of "landing page" is. If it's just some flog, I personally think you're asking for sandbox trouble. I do real sites with sales pages and entice them to go read the sales page first if they've stumbled into the home page, but they can click on tons of other content. Just my style. Trying to make the Interwebs a better place to live.

So my backlinking strategy is a spread of awesomeness, but it is certainly aggressive and automated/outsourced once I am happy with my site's layout and content. I go for natural, but heavy natural.

I've had one site get sandboxed, and it was by Yahoo!... and it's now back and high on Y! after a few weeks. Fuck yahoo anyway though. It's a .info site that I hate*, but recently just jumped an authority site's sub-page to be #1 in Google... I think it may have gotten more natural links lately.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll eat my words someday, but when I do all the stuff I've outlined and write a good 6000+ words of original, helpful content that people are searching for, and then start a natural but heavy spread of linking, I have success with the G.

Good luck!

* .info NEVER again... CTR off Google is way worse than my other sites which are .com #1's.
