I am a new/noop , and have been reading and testing for 3 month. I will make my long story short

I am redirecting my homepage to /en (302 redirect) since day 1. But I was building links to my homepage (without /en) it was ranking on page 2. In 20/4/2014 my homepage got replaced by one of my inner pages (was building links to my inner page as well) for all of my main keywords. It still indexed and show on some secondary keywords.
There isn't any on-page problems because I haven't changed anything. I think it got hit by over optimization anchor. (30% main keyword, 15% secondary, 55% branding variations)

My questions are

1- Can I build links to my /en page that doesn't have any problem?
2- can I balance my homepage anchor text with more generic anchor links(I am afraid of a site wide penalty that will cost me my inner page ranking on #5)
3- Is it better to forget about my homepage completely, and focus on conversion optimisation on my inner page

Note: I am using senuke and some network links (I am a freelance Web designer and don't have enough resources to get high quality links, will try to make high quality links as soon as I get some money online)

Any help will be appreciated

Please reply on simple/plain English as I can't understand 30% of your words (sorry my English is not soo good) :)

Changes could be due to the new Google Hummingbird update. It is placing a lot more emphasis on inner pages than home pages now. You may want to try deeplinking in the future with this in mind to optimize for those pages. Great that one of your inner pages is ranking still though.
