My IM steps so far, need ur advice

Dear all,

I started IM for a couple of months, before I've found WF, and the result I've got so far is just enough to pay baby package at gatorhost :P
Some so called Gurus at the other forums (you know the forums), told me that the essence of IM is list building.. wow.. so with full respect I buy an autoresponder, domain, hosting, and some 15-minutes-to-be-a-billionaire crap ebooks he told me.

So here's the ancient steps I took:
1. Create landing page
2. Create sales page
3. Join to several JV giveaway events, wishing some morons download my free gift, and then buy the billionaire ebook
4. And if they clever enough not to buy my bullshit, I still got their email in my list, which I can give another offer next time

I've got around 1000 list so far, with very very low conversion rate.
I dont know what to sell anymore, it seems all people selling ebooks, script, and video how to be a billionaire, with a very low price. Most of them are the same craps with a new cover. How can you be billionaire if you sell a bunch of video or ebooks with $10?

If it's not about rich-quick ebooks, it will be about diet, lost weight, self improvement, dating, bla.. bla.. Do people still buy this kind of ebooks? while we can get the same info free on the net?

Need your help to review my steps, is it still a valid method now? I need advice should I dump this and try others?
I do hope this is a valid question for a newbie, please dont send me makemoniesonline link. ;)

Join a CPA network and push some CPA to your list, you'll see much better conversion (like 35 percent, as oppose to 2 percent for ebooks)

And stay away from warriorforum, they're gay homos.
 
"Warrior forum members are homo's" is the most converting term for WF. WF conversions are high for recruiting memebers when such a phrase is used.

I have a tip for you, stop selling. Spend a little bit of time creating quality content for the list. You already have 1000 people in it, although you have to question the quality of it, but still it's something to work with.

The idea is that if you give away good information you appear trustworthy, and then people are more likely to buy from you. Ideally you'd want to sell your own products as well.

But let's face it, you've been caught in the trap. It's like the MLM of the old days, these ebooks guys recruit you to sell their ebooks and they are the guys banking.

Ideally you'd want to spend more of your time working on more viable projects like blogging and minisites etc. Keep learning, keep doing, keep asking questions etc.
