Myspace Ads

There seems a slight pattern to ad display as far as my experiences go - they seem to give an aproved ad a burst of about 3-8k impressions and if it gets clicks they keep running it - if it has zero ctr after the intial burst, is a dead duck they stop showing it, just make another campaign with the ready approved ad. I've had some with no clicks, and the same ad with 0.18% ctr, it seems to vary a bit.

Strange, i seem to be getting huge busts and then nothing over and over. Only using one ad and CTR is above 0.1% for every burst. Wish it was constant...

Have you tried raising your budget? That seems to spread things out a bit better for me.

Are people having their existing ads dissaproved? My best creative just got dissaproved which is a bummer. Should I just re-submit the same thing in a few hours?

yes - I had an ad disapproved after it had been running. I was in violation of the editorial guideline to not show women in a bikini in an image collage. I emailed myspace and they responded within 60 minutes with a description of the violation.

I got some bikini ads dissaproved, but this one creative doesn't violate their tos. I'll try contacting them anyway.

So I'm a bit late, but I finally put up some ads today. The ads were approved within 30 minutes, and one ad started running already. No clicks on the first ad (300x250 text on a white BG) with 3000 impressions, but I have no stats on my image ad yet, so there's nothing to compare it to. Trying the 22-30 male demo to start for my offer.

0.14 JUST targeting females 25+ (apx 17 mil ppl)

Using one static 300X250 that i created

Spent $150. Gross $266.

More info to come...

You're better off breaking it out into age groups as CPCs vary by as much as 8-10 cents depending on the age bracket you're targeting. By lumping them all into one campaign with the same bid, you might not be hitting all ages with ads. Not to mention some convert better than others

I still can't believe they rejected one of my ads for language the other day though. The more I look at my ad, the less I understand it. It wasn't even close to being offensive..

Yeah that's certainly the way to go. It appears it's also better to split the campaigns up into several interest groups individually vs. piling them together for one and the same ad.

For ideas on what to promote, I now browse their target audience interest list (posted here) while I'm offline. I then create a few quick banners for each, log in to the MySpace interface and start with minimum recommended bids for each. Budgets depend on the number of users but I test 1-2 days at a time. So far no big ROI to speak of.

well I started with dating and just did 1 ringtone offer - still in the negative roi but might have to do more tweaking ad wise maybe. or create a bridge page - since my first testing was just DL

Wow, they really stepped up the approval game. Posted an ad and bam, 10 minutes later it was approved. I mean, damn.

WTF, my account just got banned. I got like 50 ads disapproved and then they canned it. Unless i just can't login or something?

no man, They banned you that shit just happened to me.

I got a message from them saying my account has been bad for uploading variations of disapproved ads.

I don't know if that's what you were doing but I assume that.

MySpace could have made it off big, but they're fucking up big time imo.

Still USA only, dodgy buttons, poor coding, can't leave feedback and now BANS wtf.

They just don't want my fucking money.

Same here. I had a few campaigns running that were bringing in $800 or so in profit daily. Refer to this post about my bank's screw up, and they stopped serving impressions. I made a new account with the exact campaigns and can't seem to get any traffic coming my way. I have the creatives approved, so am just going to keep resubmitting different campaigns with the same advertisements. Hopefully those few clicks across several identical campaigns will add up to something worthwhile - eventually.

Fuck.
