Myspace Ads

My LP has a celebrity on it. I dont want to say which one but lets just say shes all over the media (im sure you can figure it out).

Im guessing thats why my ad was not approved. Myspace doesn't like you using celebrities.

Anyone feel like maybe real companies are getting more media buys on MySpace before the holidays are over?

As we get closer to Christmas, I'm seeing my traffic slow down (especially yesterday) and more and more Sprint/HP/Etc flash ads on the home page.

It really depends on which audience you are targeting...

correct. it's not that you are seeing that much less traffic (might be slightly less volume overall)...but there's a ton more advertisers trying to get the holiday buyers.

Has anyone used media buys on myspace at all? If so, Worth it at all??

Going direct with a CPM buy would be very difficult for an average publisher, unless you own your own offer and know the metrics extremely well I would advise against it. With that said, I know of one person who had an incredibly large buy in place for a few months last summer that worked well.

Keep in mind AdSense dominates the 728's at MySpace so you can potentially reach much more volume that way and keep it to a CPC deal. You can target directly, and unless anything has changed in the past month or two you can get onto MySpace through the Right Media exchange on a CPC as well.

anyone having problems getting ads approved today? I've had ads/campaigns pending all day today. Normally these guys are on the ball.

i was hoping that it wasnt just me. Ya, ive been waiting all day too. College kids are on break, lol. No one to approve the ads.

Hopefully the delays mean they are working on fixing their billing issues. I think there are like a dozen people on this board alone that were overcharged $20,000 each on average. And, unfortunately, myspace has done jack in addressing this.

Has anyone seen an abnormal increase in clicks and impressions tonight? Normally I'll get about 10,000 impressions and 15-40 clicks an hour. Between 11pm - 12am my impressions were 719,870 and I received 391 clicks...and it was simply not converting. I was doing 185% ROI up to this point... Could this be click fraud? Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did Myspace do anything about it?

Well, I once got a ton of clicks from totally non-Myspace sites - from sites that ran Adsense. How did it happen - I've no idea. Myspace is doing arbitrage themselves?..

Is there a myspace slap? For the last few days I haven't been able to get impressions for shit. I have even bumped the bid up slightly above the suggested cost. Shit is frustrating.

I keep getting an "Other - violation of terms of agreement" when trying to submit a new ad. With no specific information on what exactly they are talking about. I read the guidelines and cannot figure out what's wrong. Sent them an email so hopefully they get back to me. Any ideas?
