If you are browsing myspace, trying to find ads coming from this network, you can tell by the destination URL in the status bar.

Look for the destination to be demr.opt.fimserve.com/ when you hover over the ad.

They have a few ad-servers and you can't distinguish with just the above information between self-serve CPC, CPA and CPM buys. You can even do a site: search in Google and find most of the swf banners being served up by CPA and CPM partners.

You're saying you know other types of media are being served through that particular ad serve?

Yea, they load up all the swf files on those servers too -- these are their general ad-servers so you can't look at one destination URL or source-location for an image and assume they are all CPC advertisements.

delb.opt.fimserve.com
demr.opt.fimserve.com
desk.opt.fimserve.com
deeb.opt.fimserve.com
dehp.opt.fimserve.com
desb.opt.fimserve.com
defp.opt.fimserve.com
debr.opt.fimserve.com
dewb.opt.fimserve.com

They all serve slightly different purposes (probably segmented by file size and load) but you can't really get any good information from this.

You'll see more than just GIFs here.

fremin,

In your 1st post talking about, "grab the iframe code for all the banner sizes -- the placementID indicates where on the site the banner loads and you'll want to throw in all the popular 728 and 300 sections...."

I've been looking at the Iframe code but what is the placementID and how do we know where on the site it relates too. In the below code I'm assuming the bolded part are the placement IDs (253/0/253) . Could you provide an example of what your talking about?

try this: i paused campaigns that had been pending for 12-24 hours, then unpaused them. within 2-3 hours they came to life. it's like doing that sends them high up into the queue.

your experience may differ. regardless, im still getting next to no impressions for a fairly high click bid.

just read your post cakes and i think it solved my prob with the destination URl. the myspace system doesn't seem like any address with a '?' in it.

Figured I'd start a new thread with a less retarded title which will be easier to find for reference later. Hopefully it will become as epic as the facebook ads thread.

Here's the link to sign up, as well as a rundown I've written including most of the problems i've found in the first day: myspace ads.

My first impressions: Awesome. Not as awesome as facebook ads when they first rolled out, due to the $.25 minimum per click, but still pretty damn good if you can get an epc higher than $.25, which you should be able to if you aren't retarded.

Approval process is MUCH MUCH MUCH more relaxed than facebook. They're letting pretty much everything through. Enjoy it while it lasts!

My first ad stats:

2,455,414 Impressions
1,742 Clicks
0.07% CTR

Doubled my money so far. Hows everyone else doin?

It doesn't like if if you have domain.com/?name=value . you need domain.com/page.ext?name=value

Yay! Finally... One of my campaigns got approved. I paused it, upped the budget from $25 to $40 and extended the campaign into next month and resubmitted.

Given my luck (if you call it that) I did the same with my other campaign.

I don't know if this is blindingly obvious for some...But by default ads a set run for just the day you made them (24hrs). So for any of you that made ads over 24 hours ago and didn't change the time frame, they aint going to get accepted.
