Myspace Ads

I saw that Cakes had some luck... Anyone else?

I have 2 campaigns running, both are using advertiser provided 300 x 250 creatives. So far, collectively 3300 Ad Views, 0 Clicks...

Fucking great....

Nickycakes - when you hit your budget were you able to go in and bump it or did you have to resubmit the ads again? my first 500 is almost out and i wanted to go ahead and resubmit if i need to. fxck, i guess i could just resubmit just in case.

Figured I'd start a new thread with a less retarded title which will be easier to find for reference later. Hopefully it will become as epic as the facebook ads thread.

Here's the link to sign up, as well as a rundown I've written including most of the problems i've found in the first day: myspace ads.

My first impressions: Awesome. Not as awesome as facebook ads when they first rolled out, due to the $.25 minimum per click, but still pretty damn good if you can get an epc higher than $.25, which you should be able to if you aren't retarded.

Approval process is MUCH MUCH MUCH more relaxed than facebook. They're letting pretty much everything through. Enjoy it while it lasts!

My first ad stats:

2,455,414 Impressions
1,742 Clicks
0.07% CTR

Doubled my money so far. Hows everyone else doin?

I just paused the campaign, edited my budget and clicked "resubmit to myspace" the campaign was not changed to "pending" and stayed active...

5000 Views and no clicks....

Also, real quick - With the targetting youve set up, how many people does it say that your going to reach? One of my campaigns says 8 mil, the other one says 5 mil - Am I being too picky?

Take quality over quantity. One of my camp's is only "Total number of users: 376,075".
For all I know there may be no such quality with this at all. Would be nice to double my ROI as cakes did but we shall see.
It might take a little while to get the traffic I want but its to the people I want to see it. I am still testing though before I go throwing some bigger loot into this.

You mean not picky enough? I'd create a lot more ads to break up your 5mil and 8mil groups and target them individually. I prefer small, hyper-targeted groups.. its more work but usually more reward.

Then again I'm assuming what works on FB works here, and I'm still pending approval on my first few ads.. ;)

So far... kinda sucks. They are really milkin it with the CPC. So far 383,093 impressions. 342 clicks. Pretty decent CTR from what i can tell on display ads but definently not breaking even. Maybe with optimizations but blah back to programming. Too much effort.

Anyone managed to fix the problem with the non-working 'Build an Ad' button? I'm getting two JavaScript errors which are probably causing. It tried it in FF2, FF3, IE7 and Chrome.

I tried submitting some feedback about it, but the 'Send Feedback' button isn't working either. Amateurs! :ugone2far:

It worked fine for me. I tried first through a proxy, which then wouldn't let me click the buttons. As soon as I went direct without a proxy (and using FF2), they worked just fine.

Very frustrated.

I've got several campaigns live now, spent a little over $100 and I've only made $15. I would have thought dieting/dating/ringtones/crush would convert well here.

Try another browser. It worked for me in I.E. while it wasn't working in F.F. don't ask me which versions, i don't remember.

I've tried it on I.E. and F.F. and neither work. On the bottom left hand corner of I.E., there is an ! icon. When I click that, it says this:

Line: 45
Char: 3
Error: 'FIM' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: https://advertise.myspace.com/getstarted

Could it be something to do with my security settings or something? I tried it on another PC and got the same error!

I still have ads posting from last night. I'm going to create a bunch more ads and see what happens. They must be swamped of our ads are getting lost in cyberspace, very frustrating..

here is my 2 cents on the 2 ads I have up and running. By the way submitted at the same exact time, 1 was approved in about 3 hrs the other took over 24 hrs.

80,225620.08%only 62 clicks on 80k impressions is bad

35,548230.06%and 23 clicks on 35k impressions is worse

I am going to keep testing, try to spruce the ads up a bit, add more eye catching stuff.
The biggest problem I am having is that the networks (1 is a hydra ad, 1 is a maxbounty ad) are reporting alot less clicks then myspace is. My bank isn't getting effected at all now but what happens when the numbers get bigger? Hydra reported less than half the clicks that myspace reported and maxbounty reported about 60%.
I sent myspace a trouble/help ticket on it and the response I got back from them was kind of a douchebag response, here it is.

Thank you for your use of the Self-Serve Advertising Service beta and for bringing this matter to our attention. However, we have reviewed your account and confirmed that the numbers reported on your user account are accurate. While we appreciate your concern, MySpace calculates the charges to your account based on our internal measurement tools and is unable to adjust charges based on data provided by third party tracking services. We hope that you will continue to use the MySpace services in the future and please do not hesitate us to contact us if you have further questions.

Maybe its the time between the click and the page load. Accidently clicks, people quickly go back etc.

Just thinkin out loud.

It's been like 48 hrs and my ad has still not been approved. Is this normal??

Here's what worked for me after 24 hours --- I upped the minimum bid (by a cent lol) and prolonged the end date.

Now I've got a ton of impressions but my ads seemed to sort of stop running or something.
