Myspace Ads

I burned through approx $1100 on Tues/Wed.
Fling = $140
Acai = $64

Epic failure I'd say! Buuuuuut, I didn't use any landing pages, so that may also be why. I've been told by a real handful of the successful guys that SELLING the MSP users is key.

Based on that info, I'm trying my hand at it again, but lowering the daily budgets and cpc numbers. If it doesn't bring in any traffic, so be it, I'll have saved myself more wasted cash, but if it does bring in the volume again without the earnings, I'm giving up. I'm hitting Wu-Yi Tea with that crazy long and great converting built in LP, so we'll see what happens.

Approval times are a hell of a lot quicker now. I'm talking almost instantly - 2 hours max. For my account just now at least. The mornings also seem to be quicker.

For the record, there aren't that many people doing well with Myspace in spite of what is being reported. I'm going to do a blog post on this later when my campaign is up.

My ads have yet to update it seems since Wednesday....

Still 0 clicks and I put up another LP that is just a redirect to the offer...

Also, fuck them and there lack of support for animated gifs....

i made 3 ads at the same time, they approved 1 yesterday and the others are still pending. why wouldnt they just approve them all at the same time

Ive got 5 ads approved now 4 are very targeted, and 1 broad. I have seen 6 clicks across all 5 ads over 24hrs. My bids are mid range for their recommended price. Anyone else having issues or ideas?

My experiences so far indicate they take your budget and time-frame seriously (unlike FB). I originally set my end date of my campaigns a year out and a low budget to gauge the conversion. Seems they were trying to spread my budget of $25 over the year and giving me scraps for traffic.

I upped my budget and decreased the time frame to a couple days and started to get some real traffic.

Thanks for the tip. it seems obvious but I had $25 budget campaigns set for a year end date, and only getting a couple clicks on each campaign. I'll try this for sure. Too bad there's no daily limit.

so far, lost several dollars, not a big deal..submitted 2 more ads..waiting for approval.

0.14% CTR and 6% Conversion rate..missed FB email submit when they started..$500 per half hour..it is not happening in MySpace...Min Bid is way too high..I am at .26 now..

I don't see how anyone can make money here. I've tested across a wide variety of different offers at this point - data still coming in, but the conversions are really bad. My best EPC isn't even breaking even. Maybe magic LPs are key, but I don't see how they're going to make enough of a difference to close the gap. They're just charging too much for this shitty traffic.

This is what I get for asking what's taking so long:

Hello,

We apologize for the delay but as you are waiting for your ad(-s) to be reviewed, please keep in mind the following:

1. Ads are reviewed in the order in which they are received. During the beta test of this advertising platform, we have MySpace SSAP Specialists approving ads Monday thru Friday,10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Pacific Standard/Daylight Time).

2. The Self-Serve Advertising Program is becoming more popular and as popularity increases, so does ad volume. This also increases wait time.

3. Ads are not reviewed by an automated system. Each ad is given personal attention and reviewed by a staff member to ensure that it meets our editorial guidelines, the Music guidelines (if applicable), and the MySpace Terms of Service.

Your participation is important to us and we will continue to do our best to serve you. We appreciate your patience. Thank you for advertising on MySpace beta!

Thank you,
MySpace.com

Jon when you are talking about MSP, are you referring to "me selling proposition"?

Let me know cause I am trying to figure what MSP stands for from the context.

Dan

good luck with it, guys. my test budget is tapped. here are my results so far:

acai - epc $0.15
crush - epc $0.17
email sub 1 - epc $0.13
email sub 2 - epc $0.01

everything else has not converted - straight up dating, email subs, zip subs...

it looks like you might be able to make some money with diet and crush, but only if the clicks were cheaper

yeah myspace sucks... .25 cent clicks are harsh. Everyone stay away and save your monies!

At least you guys are getting approved ads...

Account One: Pending for 4+ days

Account Two: Pending for 2+ days

Not to mention the targeting options suck. What... nobody on MySpace is interested in anything tech related besides video games?
