I've been with KnownHost for almost a year and a half. While I was originally elated with the level of customer service and relative value of the pricing, the actual quality of the hosting is just shit. Anything running on WP or other database-heavy application runs extremely slow, often causing me to have to add additional steps to site updates and other tasks which could be handled via the WP interface if the site wouldn't time out. I change file permmissions, and they change back (wtf? is that even technologically possible, or are they reviewing customers' setups and changing them in the name of "security?") And then, in the final cherry on the shit sundae, the customer service that I so loved when I first signed up took a huge nosedive when I received multiple automated threats to have my account terminated due to spamming, when I don't fucking spam, I don't even mail off of any domain associated with that account (and the only mailing I do is opt-in stuff anyway, so certainly not spam) and my repeated attempts to chart out for them what was going on, how they were getting these incorrect reports, led to them talking down their noses at me and assuring me that I should be grateful (actual term used: grateful) that they were looking out for me (by threatening me with account closure if I did not take time out of my day to check their bullshit report and provide them with affirmative feedback.)
Slow sites are aggravating but livable. However, I'd rather be mugged and punched in the dick for good measure, than deal with clueless and arrogant.customer service reps in any capacity.
