Need Advice creating Membership site

I want to create a membership site that sells physical products.

I'm new to this so I need advice with how to create this.

I've looked a "Joomla" and other traditional methods but I don't know which way to go.

How should I create the website to handle the membership and the database of products?

You sound totally outgunned for this sort of project, so partnering up with a local tech guru is probably the best thing you can do.

This times infinity. There's a huge can of worms in terms of what you're asking about, you need to study up and most likely pair up with someone who knows what they're talking about.

What accounting system do/will you be using too ? Sage Accpac has "webstore" applications available for it that work right out of the box. North49.com offers a product that handles it for you.. inventory levels are checked against Accpac, sales and processed directly into it too.
You could use Joomla as the front end/membership handler, and have the webstore inside a Registered section of the site.

Or go talk to that local IT guru
