Need advice - how to promote an online game

Hello to wickedfire!

Can you help out with any advice on how to promote an online browser game.
Is there any big affiliate networks like CJ that I can participate in?
I need 2-3k players for a start.

PPC campain in adwords was a failure.
I also advertise on GAO but I don't really like the conversion I'm getting from there.
Another thing I do is SEOing the hell out of Google, but that takes too long.

I'm guessing you're a game dev and have your own game?

I hope you have cash lined up for the affiliate model. Probably looking at $3-5 per player.

Would be awesome if people searched the site and googled "keywords+site:wickedfire.com" before posting threads. Then maybe they'd make useful threads with a decent strategy to ask opions and advice on instead of wanting a handout without putting in any effort.

Probably because you didn't put a space and then "site:" before "wickedfire.com". Don't blame us for your fuckups when we give you advice, and only look at one keyword phrase.

"promote game site:wickedfire.com" (without quotes) returns the thread I posted above.
