Hi,

I'm planing to register a new domain name for my new site and i have following queries regarding it:

1. Should i use highly searched keyword with low competition or low searched keyword?

2. Can i use stop word like "from" for domain name?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Can you get an exact match domain (EMD) on the highly searched keyword? If so, then go with that one. If not, then I would recommend an EMD (.com, .net, or .org) for a lower searched keyword that contains the higher searched keyword.

Example:

keyword w/ 10K exact searches per month: blue widgets (bluewidgets.com/net/org area already taken)

blue widgets reviews receives 1000 exact searches per month, it contains the keyword blue widgets. Try to register bluewidgetsreviews.com, .net, or .org

Thanks that is what i was looking for and now I'm almost done. One more question for example if my target keywords are "iphone to pc" and "iphone to mac" and both of them are not available with .com,.net, .org and even with variations like "iphone to pc transfer", "iphonepctransfer" etc.

After considering the above situation i can go for,

(1). pcfromiphone.com ( Highly searched exact keyword with almost 200000 searches) But not much appealing to me personally.

(2). iphonetopcsoftware.com ( It can cover one of my targeted keyword but searched only 22000 times)

Now which one should i go for. I'm not looking for maintaing a brand name, just want to take the advantage of keyword factor in domain. Any other alternatives are welcome too.

I agree with johnmoses, if you can get one with that much more exact match searches, you will get way more traffic with the first one. Traffic = Money if it is targeted traffic

The ONLY time I may waiver from this that I can think of right off the top of my head is that you look at the competition for the first keyword and realize it is going to be VERY hard to compete. Example, Keyword #1 you see that you have 10 other competitors in the top 10 clearly targeting that keyword, but also sitting at PR4's+ with 20K backlinks each. The other having less, but more easy to rank on.

My guess is that a competitive niche as the #1 wouldn't have an EMD that is available (99%+) of the time. The fact that you see that it is available may tell you that people are searching on it, but there is really not too many people targeting that keyword. I've never really ran into a situation where an EMD was available and people were heavily targeting the keyword. If you did, it might be great for a case study. :)

I also agree the you need to go for the higher-search keyword if you can get the EMD. Even if the EMD that you can get isn't personally visually appealing to you, you'll get better targeted traffic since more people are searching for it.

buy all of them. If your site will be hit by Panda you will have already registered and indexed domain :)
