Have been writing articles, 12 in total, for the past month with a redirect in the article to the affiliate website. Getting views and a couple of articles have been picked up and re-printed on other websites/blogs. However, I have not gotten any sales yet. Getting clicks to the affiliate website but no sales. I do not have a website of my own yet.

My questions are:

1) Should I just continue writing articles and see if sales start to happen, or

2) Should I set-up my own blog or website and redirect readers to my site and than from there to the affiliate website?

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

option 2 will give you the possibility to test multiple products

with your own site you're in control of everything, you can switch between different offers/merchants/products in case you think a product or a landing page is not performing well or a network or an advertiser is not playing correctly

moreover, 12 articles in a month: I see a big problem here......you don't neet top notch content, go for quantity.
If you're doing only that and you're doing it full time try to give you a daily goal, say 10 articles per day

I would link to a microsite. By linking directly you are giving the target site the link juice. Instead you could be building up your own site and gaining traffic, links, and sales.

Thank you to all who replied

Thanks to everyone that replied to my questions. The product sells for $38.97 and I'm getting, averaged, 6 click thru's per article. Gonna get my own website and blog and definitely write more articles. Just a beginner so I have a lot to learn and do.

Thanks again for the help. It is appreciated and helpful to me.

create a squeeze page if someday this aff program just disappear you'll just find a new one and keep the money into your pocket

I would say before you do all that work you should test some other affiliate offers. The affiliate offer may just not convert.

12 articles is not that a lot, maybe you can hire people from fiverr to write good content with the right targeted keywords for a really fair price

Not enough articles to expect fantastic results really. You may want to write more, as well as play with your call to action in the articles.
