It looks pretty good. I like the hottest list on the home page. I'm learning just from looking at your sites. The keyword selection is pretty obvious when you look for it.

Are you totally depending on organic search or are you doing ppc on it?

Also, is the powered by ebay a requirement? I notice you that that on your other site doo.

thanks

in RE to ppc question, check out my blog post: Why you should not use PPC with your phpBay Pro sites | phpBay Tips

in terms of "powered by ebay" i do it to build visitor trust. Most people would probably not buy from an auction site they never heard of. it's best when you do it with the eBay logo, i still have to add that to the apple site.

However, i'm not a fan of using the phpBay option to add the ebay logo above the auctions, that makes it look more like your auction is an ebay banner add with auctions...

Great thread. Has anyone thought of adding an Opt In box to begin list building from these sites? Send follow up messages periodically announcing something like "Hurry...X product currently at a low, low price of Y" to keep people coming back and resetting those cookies.

Anyone know what happens if you send a person to the wrong ebay country site? Instead of sending a Canadian to .CA you send them to .COM or visa-versa? Do you still get commission?

rgordon83: How did you change your listings to look more like eBay ones?

Mine just look like a picture with a load of words next to it, would prob help CTR if it looked more like eBay right?

edit: I guess it's part of 3.0 right?

@rgordon...

on that apple site.. how do you make the categories / posts in the menu bar?
Do you use pages or posts?

if its the same like the golf ball one....

1. Browse Golf Balls (pages?)
2. Golf Resources (?)
3. Recent Posts (posts?)

How did you manage to break it down?

Thanks

1. yes, pages (flexi pages widget)
2, post categories (built in WP widget)
3, recent posts (built in WP widget)

He probably does what alot of us do which is use the pages for the ebay links, the actual guts of the site. Then use pages to keep adding additional content for SEO.

I 've made 2 of these sites so far the first one is doing ... ok ..it is more of a labor of love becuase the niche is something I enjoy. The 2nd one is a profitable niche but Its been 2 weeks since I made the thing and submitted a site map to google and bought a 200 dir submission package and not 1 page has been indexed in any search engine.

How are you guys getting the spiders to visit and actually index the page?

^that's a good question with the other SEs (I'm still trying to get a few of mine indexed) but google should be fairly easy. Just last night I submitted a new one and I woke up this morning and it's there. Just you submit it here? Add your URL to Google

I don't know about that Add URL thing on Google, considering they don't really like us SEO folks, why would they have something like that?

I personally think it would be more beneficial to submit your site to some Social Bookmarking sites, especially Reddit and wait.

It only takes a few links (if that) to get Google crawling your site with a view to index!
