I don't get how this is illegal. I suppose if it a rule then fine. But it seems like a stupid one.
 
It's against the rules because it can drastically change the outcome of the game. It's not like basketball where everyone knows Malone is getting the ball from Stockon on a pick and roll and it's either you stop it or you don't. In football there is MUCH more strategy being played out. Small example, if the offense knows what blitz package the defense is going to send then the offense will adjust their blocking scheme's and WR's routes accordingly. Result, the blitz will be picked up and the offense will run a WR to the empty holes in the D. If you can do this 1 time it could easily change the outcome of the game, let alone if you can do it for 60 minutes. So why is it against the rules? To keep integrity in the game.

I'm just a little shocked they were so arrogant about it. At least give the guy some of those glasses with a tiny camera in it and have the guy look directly at the defensive coaches and then glance up at the scoreboard.
 
There's nothing wrong with this. They are all out in the wide-open. If they don't want this shit to happen, all they have to do is ban all video cameras that aren't a part of the broadcast.
 
They are supposed to be recording additional game film for the teams to study, not their play calling. Banning video cameras would take a big part away from studying.

Instead of banning video cameras, what the NFL should be doing is have all team owners invest in the same audio equipment they have for all QBs on offense and do the same for the MLB on defense. Then have the coach call the play into the linebacker and you obviously eliminate all the physical play calling. Why they haven't already done this I have no idea...
 
If they allow taping then they allow taping. What's wrong with studying the other team? Seems like there are too many pussies. Welcome to the 21st century and deal with it. Here's an idea. Make up new calls and totally screw the other team. Do the opposite of what they think you will do. Sheesh...
 
whats weird with all the video apps going round, whos to say they wont give some kid a videocam, and have him on the sidelines and collect all the signals they want. Its kinda futile, but then again no matter the panthers lost the superbowl in 2003, so fuck that. :)
