NEW Facebook Ads

Emptypockets is saying what I have said 100 times in various threads if you want traffic raise your budget up. Test it yourself. Roll out the same ad 3 times. One with your $150 budget, 1 with $1000 budget and one with $50,000 budget. Almost always you will get immediate impressions on your bigger budgets.

Actually, the budget setting doesn't even remotely affect impressions anymore.

I always start my campaigns with a $20.000 or $100.000 budget from the very beginning - but this has ZERO effect on impressions. Nada.

Try it yourself; Start a campaign with $1000, wait for FB to not give you any impressions, or maybe a handful (which seems to be their new way of working).

Then, jack up the budget to $10k or even $100k. See a dramatic increase in impressions now?

Didn't think so.

Haha, that's how I felt too. They literally hand-picked my most profitable ads and slapped them. Other ads (near identical in every sense) in the same campaigns that were just doing so-so profit-wise were left untouched. It was as if they knew which ones were making me the most ROI.
Failbook.

How does the campaign budget associate to me not getting impressions? its about $150/day. Demo has 28million people.

It's really a combination of things and your campain budget is definitely a factor in how many impressions you get, depending on your keywords and target size. I think saying campaign budget is not a factor isn't true, but at the same time you have to find a good balance so it works for you. If you've got ads with a .03% ctr and you're hoping to get more impressions just because you have a 'huge' campaign budget...you'd better rethink your strategy.

My point is...one single thing isn't going to just 'give' you impressions. It's about finding the right balance. Volume10 has been slinging out the goods but nobody is listening. If you're spending $150 for a campaign I suggest you try $500 if you can swing it. Pick a small target and work from there, gotta crawl before you can walk.

I can understand that ads with shitty CTRs are not what FB wants to see and thus, giving them more impressions after that doesn't make much sense.

But what I'm talking about is 0 impressions, or ads that remain with impressions so low (single or double digits) that they never get a chance to get clicks (and thereby never can establish a CTR).

In this case, budget has no effect and neither does bidding.

Try re-running the exact same set of ads in a new campaign with a higher bid than the ads with little to no impressions. See if that helps.

well this is great. I go to turn on some campaigns that I have individually paused inside of a group (this group is running) and the only option I see is delete or pause... where is run?

haha is anyone seeing this?

I've seen odd UI behavior like this now and then. Sometimes certain buttons or links disappear. Other times, they can't be clicked at all. Try logging out/in and restart your browser. That UI is still riddled with bugs. (Just like their ad servers, lol)

hey guys im trying to increase my daily spend by emailing them (affiliates@facebook.com) about it, but they say i must hit the limit 4-5 times successfully before ill automatically get a raise.

since last 2-3 days my spending was just a couple of dollars below the limit, so i doubt i would get any automatic raise...

Any tips ?

just keep pushing and make sure you're capping out. it's not hard to do, just depends on whether you're making money with what you're already running.

Its ok if its a few dollars out, as long as you're getting close to the limit for about 5 days straight you'll get your budget bumped up and receive an email about it.

yea i will. but is there any way to increase limit BEFORE that? Like right away by emailing them again or something ?

you've basically got to prove to fb that you're going to be a consistent spender. once they know you're spending and placing a lot of ads, they'll be more likely to increase your spend.

^ im sure everyone here who has a few accounts will agree this is BS. Open an account, used it for a day, get a $3k limit increase instantly.

I know someone who did it yesterday.

Above $3k, scan your drivers licence, fill in the form and get what ever limit you want.

You must be writing your emails like a baby, tell them your a marketer and you need to scale a campaign.
