NEW Facebook Ads

How do you go about lowering your bids in order to get the lowest CPC. In google I tend to reduce my bid by about 1c per day after 2 weeks of keeping it high. Is the rule the same with FB or do you have success with lowering it quicker. I've finally got something converting but I don't really have the budget to lose money for a long period of time...

yep, start higher and lower as you see fit. lets say you start at .55 cents...and you're getting a ton of clicks...lower it to whatever the average is and see if you see get clicks...rinse and repeat

Thanks, but how quickly do you lower the bids? 1c/day or 5c/hr etc...? I've heard that you have a higher chance of getting a lower final CPC if you start the bidding high and keep it high for a while...

in my experience...doesnt matter how quickly you lower it...just keep an eye on CTR and average CPC...that will show you how quickly to lower

Thanks I saw that post earlier on today and assumed it was for adwords. Is this actually for facebook?

But I'm running a new mobile offer on copeac and I'm seeing the EXACT same thing. First hour and a half ... fine. Fantastic epc, everything. Two more hours pass ... zero conversions. I'm not running as high of traffic as you are but the effect is the same. Unless this issue gets addressed seriously, I think I'm going to stay away from mobile for the time being.

Damn shame too, if the companies were legit, I would be banking.

Same here, running it on FB. Mobile IQ/ringtones starts off great, then conversions tank and never recover. It's a shame too, I would really love to make this campaign work, I have great CTR and lots of traffic.

But with single digit EPC, it's just not viable.

noob question, i've been running IQ ads on facebook for a week and have broke even. i'm targeting the highest converting demographic. what can i do to make this profitable? if i lower the CPC any more, i won't get any impressions...

Yeah this was for FB. And yeah - I know, it really sucks. And it's really interesting to see the amount of people now reporting this exact same pattern. I'm starting to lose count.

You and me both. :)

Amen to that. I also have awesome CTR, really cheap clicks, and tons upon tons of traffic. I have some ads that would bring in several hundreds of leads daily just by themselves. But it's worthless without a stable offer to send it all too.

Good for you. I would ask for a payout increase from your network. That, or see if you can find the same offer with a higher pay elsewhere.

ImagesAndWords - You said that you see this pattern whenever you start a new campaign or unpause and old one in your other post. What is usually the time period between the pausing and unpausing of a campaign so that the pattern repeats it's self instead of just picking up with crappy conversions where it left off.

I think you see my thought process here. What if I send bursts of huge traffic for about an hour with ads that have proven to work. Then just repeat the process, pausing the campaign each time they start scrubbing :D

Well I've waited like 24 hours or sometimes a couple of days between resuming campaigns. The thing is though, although the idea of just sending bursts for short periods of time sounds good - it will only get you so far. In my testing, I found that the awesome conversions only happen within the first 500 clicks.

The number of impressions on my big campaigns dropped by 90%. Not good :(

couple things...

1. stop making ads that get bad ratings! not sure what your ads look like but even my "spammy" looking ones are getting lots of imps...maybe because i have lots of account history.

2. i tell this to everyone, delete, and recreate the ad again and start with higher bids...try that.

I had one of my accounts wacked by an admin. No big deal, but it was all stuff against the TOS that they let through with there laxative moment a few weeks back. This guy obviously didnt get the memo. Oh well, better than dealing Google's BS.

wacked...you mean banned? when did it happeN? did you get your account back?

It says closed by an administrator. Im not even gonna bother asking for it back. I dont need them digging around for my other accounts. I'm figuring it was a random review and the guy wacked it. It was running everything they dont like, but let through cause they had that panic moment in January. It's FB, the left hand doesnt know what the right is doing.

My account got banned last week too. I send an email to them but they never replied back.

Got another account going though but it sucks as I have to build up my daily limits again.

Nope, I did what you said not to do and that's keep submitting banned content (I thought I might get lucky with some wet behind the ears intern). Fuckin sucks, but I guess I deserved it lol...

lol...sorry...i know we've had our gripes on each other but i do feel bad about you getting banned.

that being said, thanks for letting me know why...i knew resubmitting the same ads over and over would get someone banned.

good luck man

All good dude and thanks. I was in a shitty mood that day and shouldn't have vented by trying to go to war on here. My bad.

Now back to work and make some mooolah! :)
