NEW Facebook Ads

haha. Yeah Joker.. good luck getting that shit through. I'd say you should spend up some time putting up ads that'll get through first and then waste your time dicking around trying to get questionable stuff by facebook's approval gestapo.

I never copy an existing good ad, since if the coped one gets the axe by a new intern reviewer then the old one will be axed too. But yeah i was on the same autoapprove bandwagon, now autodis.

THIS.

Never press the "Create Similar Ad" on an already running ad. If the retarded reviewer decides to disapprove your new ad for no reason, they will also disapprove the original. Only use that function when all your ads are in que for review.

Man this shit is aggravating. Charge my card toolbags.

No shit..

Nothing I love more than contradicting messages:
"There is an outstanding balance on your account. Your ads will not be displayed until your account balance is settled. Please enter a valid funding source. When you submit that information, we will charge your funding source."

while they also have this to say about my cards:
"This is a verified funding source. The information you have provided has passed verification."

Wake up FB. Several days now with no fix and no response.

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to let this one pass.

I was actually helping with my old fraternity's recruitment. At first, I was just sending traffic to their rush flier on their facebook page. Once I had time, I built a landing page and got it optimized for collecting potential pledge info. Unfortunately, facebook shut down my ads and it's kind of moot to be collecting new pledge info by now since rush week is over in 2 days.

Anyway, I targeted it to a small demo (males, 16-22, at the college) of like 11000.

Ended with:
Impressions: 264,717
Clicks: 743
CTR: 0.281%
CPC: $0.05
Spend: $36.48

The best performing ad had a CTR of .407%. Before the traffic started waning, one of the ads was getting .7%. I was getting 2 cent clicks off that one.

The result: There's a hell of a lot of new likes on the page (which is where most of the clicks went) and since I only had the LP optimized for like 2 hours (with less ads running) before FB decided to be fuckasses about billing, one lead.

Either way, it was an interesting experiment and will probably help us completely beast at recruitment in the future. I set it up on monday morning around 2:30am. I wonder how it would have done if I set it up like a week earlier.

Next quarter, I guess.

You mean it automatically disapproves the original when the copy is manually disapproved?

I forgot to pay my card (which was linked to my paypal) so Facebook's charge got declined.

So I cleared my card balance and try again:

After I tried to pay outstanding balance with Paypal, I got the error message

There was an error charging your funding source

I've been trying numerous time since last 8 hour, still the same. Have emailed support through their useless contact form (come on, no ticket system ? )

Really? Well phew, I got away with it that time, but in the future I'll do that.

Let me know guys when you start getting ads approved, I'm not gonna alter demographics until they fix this :(

So about 2 weeks ago, I converted my account to my local time zone. Not knowing that it will create a separate advertising account for me, and leave me with 0 active ads on this new account. The account with all the running ads was dropped down to a $50/day budget; while my new account received my $10k/day budget.

Anyhow, I was initially pissed, since I had to re-submit all my ads on the new account, but I did.

This past Tuesday, I decided to resume 1 of my campaigns on my old account, since I had an ad there that was running a super low cpc that I couldn't replicate on my new account. So I hit the $50 budget Tuesday, and then yesterday, When I wake up this morning, find a letter saying that this account's budget was moved to $250. So I was pretty happy that I can now spend more on my good campaign.

Couple hours later I receive another email saying that the account has been moved to a $2,000/daily budget. Which was great.

Until I got the following email:

Exact time and my email address are blurred out so FB reps that check these forums can't link my username to my adv account.

So yea, looks like a new way to get suspended off Facebook. Really sucks to be honest, since in the niche I run, offers are on low caps, so every few days, I need to switch in a different offer real quick and so on. Now it seems that for every other offer, going to need to have a new ad.

Also, Woody ended up retro-disapproving 2 of my ads on my old account only. One of those ads was my good ad, and the other ad was not even active. The ads on my new account have not been retro-disapproved or mentioned.

......unless I cloak

Does FB have an account-wide quality score? Meaning if all your campaigns performed with low CTR in the past, then it will give you inflated bids/actual CPC on any new ad your start?

Today I got the whole massive retro-disapproval thing... I go back 20 minutes later to submit the ads again, and the ones that got retro-disapproved were *deleted* from my account. Anyone ever have this happen?

that sucks martin but at least you got a warning. I lost my adwords account over some geo redirect bullshit with no warnings.

Shit, that totally blows. I figured this was the point of putting the URL in the ad so they can easily see when you swap out links. Interesting that the subject was "1st Strike."

Yea, it definitely sucks. Considering that nowadays it takes a good amount of impressions to work done your CPC; having to create new ads for more/other offers will be hurting ROI's.
Most of all, using Propser's rotating URL feature is risky now.

That and networks redirecting when offers go down.

SO these assholes now disapproved 2 of my running ads after 25k clicks. All compliant and making 100% ROI :(
