NEW Facebook Ads

Been a shit show for the last week or two. Last Friday we had a campaign that typically gets ~ .30% ctr that sky rocketed to 1.5% (no shit.) They sent us 14k uniques at .02 cpc in a matter of two hours. Needless to say the glitch worked in our favor ...the very next morning our cpc climbed to .25 cpc and kept climbing beyond .50 when we paused on Monday.

You guys think this chaos is being caused by the new layouts? any other theories?

i don't necessarily think the new layout is dramatically lowering CTRs, but it could be the influx of local and noob advertisers throwing up ads in time for christmas, messing up bid prices, etc.

anyone else getting their ads rejected because of supposed destination URL problems? :banana_sml:

You could try sending in a request about the ad to facebook support but that really won't do you any good. From my experience if I get that excuse, chances are I won't be able to find a way to get the ad approved. That's with direct linking, as opposed to a lander of course.

I've managed a pretty decent ctr recently even on really broad targeting. So the new layout isn't really affecting me to bad. I think its just a matter of getting use to how the new layouts perform combined with holidays and what not.

had an amazing CTR bidding CPC, switched to CPM thinking my amazing CTR would bring in the monies and it goes down 80%.

poop.

I've noticed this on certain demographics.

Sometimes switching to CPM won't affect your CTR at all and you double your ROI.

Other times switching to CPM will drastically plummet your CTR into the ground.

I think if you're targeting really large demos, it would be better to stick to CPC.

that makes sense seeing as how I was targeting a broad demo but I wonder what changed.

I take it CPC gets better placement

Cheers for the reply,
been trying to approve different adcopies for the whole week, no love for dating offers. Seems like everytime they came up with a different/random excuse before finally sticking with the 'url no good' crap. Altering t202 links/campaigns/images didn't help either. Balls

Thing is, i've got some ad copies approved for that offer so it may be a case of fb intern acting like a stuck-up bitch

On the bright side, it's probably a sign to start using my own landers

How are people getting their CPC's so low?

I have several ads that have a .06 CTR and the bid is the same.

Honestly, a .06 CTR% isn't all that great.

However, don't just think in terms of CTR. If that 0.06% CTR ad is making you monies, then keep running it.

You also have to spend at least $20-$30 to get your CPCs down.

I've had a 0.08% CTR ad on a US demo that had 25 cent CPCs after spending $30 or so on it.

If the offer is pretty stable, then I'd wait a few days or a week. I tried direct linking a mobile offer on facebook and got that same excuse for about 40 ads. I waited a week and on the first shot every copy got approved. Some interns seem a little more lax then others.

If there are any noobs having problems getting ads approved shoot me a msg on aim and I'll try and help you.

My daily spend limit seems to be stuck at $500. Spent 500 for 4 days in Sept, and also over the past 2-3 days and it still isn't increasing to 1k...

Do I have to hit $500 for 5 consecutive days for it to increase?
