NEW Facebook Ads

tracking202 links are not accepted by facebook anymore. you have to install it on your own hosting.

if you dont want to do that, you can use the bevomedia web based hosting.

i find this to be true, i use tracking202s cloaked links on my servers errrday all day. facebooks interns need to stick to my standards, the ads that they are disapproving make NO sense. some of these ads i completely duplicate, and change onnnnnnnnnne tiny demographic and it comes back disapproved with the "url not blha blha" comment

Third time I've got this in a week. All ads submitted manually, about 300 or so per day. Be careful if you're submitting lots of ads at once.

I regularly submit 300-400 ads at a time. I've once been throttled as in the message above, so be sure you're not lightning blasting them ... make it look like you're actually a human doing this. My guess is that there is simply a threshold for how many ads you can submit within a certain timeframe. Throw in a 5-15 second delay between submits. Takes a few hours.

My recent findings from Facebook UK advertising:-

Click discrepency of about 25% i.e. Fb: 100 clicks P202: 75 clicks

Loads of mobile devices. There's no way I can find to filter them so you are being forced to pay for them. Better send to a mobile offer, look at $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] in php and redirect from there. If you are promoting something completely unrelated to any mobile offers it's not going to convert anyway so just leave it as is. Someone suggested that there is a new app that displays adds that has become really popular. I haven't checked this out yet.

FB Geotargeting is all over the place at City and Country level.

CPC campaigns are doing all sorts of random stuff with bidding. Could be down to end of year budgets, increased spending over Xmas season having some affect on the algorithm.

CPM bidding is more reliable but also more expensive in the long run.

Split testing landing pages can get campaigns pulled even if its something small and silly like a different background colour.

Add approval is carried out by the monkey from the Cadburys advert who hits one drum for yes and the other for no.

The monkey is shown a screenshot of the landing page which is taken by a linux bot running firefox immediately after the campaign is submitted.

Alot of the things I've been seeing have reminded me of what we've all been through with Google. I think facebook is eventually going to go down the same path and it wont be long before all kinds of factors influence if your add gets shown or not:- Landing page quality score, account history, bounce rate etc.

Looks like it's going to be fun and games in 2011.

Lost my retro disapproval virginity this morning, it hurt

Pretty sure the click prices should have went down even more, this is for dating

Lessons learned:
1. tittays=money, life-force 1(4) anyone?

2. Ad is doing great? Scale like a motherfucker! By that I mean increase your budget as much as you can if you're seeing a good roi, could have spent a couple hundred more of that green by the time fb decided to act

3. Persistence is key, I've submitted 100+ ads until I got few good ads approved. This leads to my next point:

4. FB ad approvals are pretty fucking random

i hate to say it bro but thats a inefficient business tactic you have to rely on luck to be profitable.. luck won't always be on your side.. you can be profitable without huge tit pics on dating..

They seem to auto-disapprove prosper202 (self-hosted version) links too,
as soon as I see fb links go through spy view, the ads are immediately disapproved for that url crap.
On the other hand when the referer is intern.facebook.com the ads get actually reviewed

Well the EPC's were quite high without my own lp, but I understand what you mean, I'd be better off making a good ad that is compliant with fb guidelines and a lp to split test.

Anyway, ctr seems to go up together with tit size

ya but ctr isn't everything.. i've had dating ads with decent ctrs and incredible epcs. Which in the end ended up profiting way more than my ridiculous ctr ads.. You don't have to break the rules to be successful in the long run being compliant will benefit you more..

Basically what you're talking about here are curiosity clicks VS targeted clicks.

Yesterday I was checking out different profiles I hadn't logged into in a while. I'm in the US and these accounts were for middle age males. One of the accounts was showing me ads in Spanish and appeared to be female demo ads. Another profile was showing me a bunch of local ads for a city in Australia, and a couple seemed to be displaying ads for what should have been much younger demos.

Also starting to wonder if your account history impacts impression rate, like a quality score. I'm still having a bitch of a time getting impressions on ads that have .2 - .3% CTR unless I way overbid.

Yes , even i am facing the same problem! It has not beeen solved yet by facebook.. Ctr is way high but do not run untill i over bid the suggested ones.

Only time I see ads on facebook when I am on the iPad is with the unoffical facebook app and I click a link to take me outside that app to facebook.com

I was spend 50$ voucher for 20$ profit in my aff network. I dont pay this 50$ so no problem for me. Hah now i plan to get 10 new accounts and fund them with vouchers just to promote my CPA :)

Great to know that you're inflating our prices you piece of shit.
