NEW Facebook Ads

Anybody seen a drastic decline in FB ad impressions today starting at Midnight PST? Does anyone have any information on the cause?

Yes, I'm using about 10% of my budget at this point today compared to yesterday

pissing me the fuck off.

its down across all campaigns.

its also down on campaigns that have a 1.0+ ctr

so no, you are wrong.

Thanks for the update, glad it wasn't isolated to my portfolio. I wish there was more info on what update went in last night to cause this. I have asked my rep and he wasn't aware of the cause.

Facebook is so random, disapprove my ads for my legit offer.... approve a whole mess of ads I'm going to use to run IQ oh FB will you ever learn.

Keep working at it BlueYonder, you are right that certain products are best to push on facebook. Usually things that make the user get out there CC are not ideal. The exception being very targeted stuff, for example I've had some luck selling event tickets and will be going further down that road in the future. Right now I just have so much stuff I could be doing each day.

The key is to just try tons of ads to find one that gives you not only the CTR you need but converts how you need. I've started targeting a group of people of about 150k and my first slew of ads get between .15-.30 ctr but after a week of switching around I'm at .7-.9 jus try EVERYTHING and cut what doesn't work. What has worked best for me is targeting to keywords and spamming the keyword in the ad. Say you are targeting Jonas Brothers fans to buy Jonas Brothers tickets (don't try this as it would never work those fans don't buy there own tickets, you could however use this to get the attention of Jonas Brothers fans to push something else) your ad should have "Jonas Brothers" written 3-4 times to get the best ctr in my experience.

Make sure to try different pictures as well. If you are using picture of the Jonas Brothers for the previous ad make sure to try tons of different pictures. I've had the experience of two pictures of the same person/group while one has more than double the ctr.

I hope this helps and may my IQ offers kill today. I see some of you must still have some biz ops FB hasn't nuked or let through as a fluke.

I have profitable campaigns where I'm making 100% ROI but I don't know how to scale them. Making more ads and adding them to the campaign doesn't work when your customer base (if that's the right term) is only 200,000k.

Were talking lunch money here. How do I scale something like this without paying more per ad/impression?

I honestly don't see how people are making a killing at this when once you start to laser target your ads, your pool of customers gets too low to make any decent money off of it.

Yes you can't make more ads when your only working with 200k to increase profits. What I was referring to was the way you break up your ads. When I identity a demo of 2-3 millions that will convert I think hard about how to divide them up to advertise more effective. I'm not gonna share any of my own ideas about how I do that. But an obvious one that I will share would be using geo targeting, ctr will increase by splitting up almost any type of ad to different geo groups and putting something about the location in the ad.

But when it's a demo of only 200k to start, yes you have a problem. I've been in the same boat; I find a free product sample offer of a brand popular enough that people have it listed in their profile as a like and surprize surprize it converts great with them. But I certainly can't scale this one, in only targets 30k people and can do about 30$ a day in profit though so with 200k people you should be able to eek out some sort of daily profit you are happy with I hope. Good luck.

Has anyone been trying anti-wrinkle ads lately? I'm guessing those are a pain in the ass to get through as well.

Nice. I was doing a lot of targeting of 200k and fewer demos, which was yielding nothing special. Getting bigger demos and then thinking about geotargeting them seems like a good first step to break down big numbers.

now to start thinking of other ways to do this.....

Yes, I'm wrong. I'm noticing the same thing too now :P I wonder if impressions are way up for other people, or if FB just isn't displaying ads today.

Wow I can't believe I hadn't thought of that before - thanks!

I can get impressions fine, just no clicks or leads. Giving msn ago to see if it's my adverts and offers or jsut facebook.

I've gotten numerous other confirmations from other affilates, everyone got about 1/10 their normal impressions today.

Fuck man I have to like crawl on my knees and beg for impression.

what the fuck is going on?

About a month ago you could just bid the suggested min cpc and you would get enough impressions.
Now even doubling the minimum suggested cpc doesn't give you enough impressions to work with.
BTW I am targetting 8 million americans.
