NEW Facebook Ads

today is a failure for me... conversions suck... the reason some of you guys are not seeing ur ad is b/c they run a cap on each ad for how many times a user can see it. The rep said she didnt know the cap but perhaps if it has been served a decent amount.. it has reached that cap?

when an ad is disapproved with FB can i edit it or do i need to create a new ad?
i cant fine any edit button.

This statement is BS. I am running a very profitable campaign on FB without any keywords.

I took one of my best campaigns, took out all keywords, got into a demo 8 times bigger, got almost as good of a ctr and almost as good of a conversion rate, and quadrupled my volume.

So you are right and he is wrong.

I've noticed that now any time I use the copy ad feature to get a faster approval the ad never gets a single impression. Making a new ad and going through the long approval process does but copies aren't getting any impressions. Anyone else notice the same?

Just started using Facebook over the last few days and had a question. When you create a new ad what are you guys setting your max bid at based on the suggested bid? Do you start lower than what they suggest?

Recently I received this email:

This is the first warning I got, how serious should I take the account being disabled part?
Can anyone recommencement a good rep for me? Does a rep help you in situations where you might get a ban? I am mainly running European ads.

Targeting
Ads for dating sites, services, or related content must follow these targeting criteria: (i) the Relationship Status targeting parameter must be utilized and set to Single, (ii) the Sex targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of Male orFemale must be selected, (iii) the Age targeting parameter must be utilized and the age range selected must start at least 18 years old, (iv) the Interested In targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of either Men or Women must be selected.
Ads with adult themes, including contraception, sex education, and health conditions must be targeted to individuals at least 18 years old.

I have had all my dating ads turned down for not targeting correctly. Of course, I am on every ad.

I wonder what the go with this is? It could be why many of us are having probs, I always use this feature

OK so I've been working with the Facebook platform for a little over a month now and I'm having some issues that I can't seem to figure out. Keep in mind I've read most of the old Facebook thread and pretty much all of this thread, just need some criticism and advice.

I read about how FB gives you a burst of impressions and also about how people can easily see 200k+ impressions right after the ad starts to run. I must be doing something wrong because I get anywhere from 2k-10k impressions at most when my ad starts and over the course of a few days to a week I'm only totalling a little over 100k impressions...if lucky.

I understand that CTR matters and when you get clicks, FB is gonna throw more impressions your way, but I can't seem to get the initial burst of impressions I need to make an impact.

I've tested all kinds of shit like large demos (4m+ users) and super targeted (55k users), suggested bid prices and low bid prices (from what I read some say that 0.20 CPC will still get me large amount of impressions). Nothing seems to work. I haven't tried bidding over suggested or 2x suggested b/c from what I've read that seems like I'm both throwing money away and causing bids for everyone else to go up, which is technically not good.

I'll admit that you can say it's the ad, but I feel like my ads are catchy, with attention drawing headlines/pictures. I just feel like not enough people are seeing it to begin with. Also, what pisses me off is reading that CTR of .1 is easily obtainable and that some are even getting .4 CTR or higher...WTF I can't even break .06 CTR.

Sorry for the long, whiny-ass post, but I feel like I've spent enough time testing and throwing money into the fire to be able to ask for advice.

Sorry, a little something extra to add:

Does making campaigns with 1 ad and campaigns with many ads effect impressions because I've tried both. Also does FB look at the ad budget to see if they should give you more impressions, tried $20/$40/$100 daily for a single campaign with anywhere from 1-5 ads in them. I'm on a tight budget so I'm not comfortable setting daily budget higher than $100 on a single campaign ATM.

x3

I emailed FB about this too and this is how their retarded support replied:

Hi,

Thanks for checking in with us. If an ad doesn't perform well when it is first running on our site, it is likely that our system will determine that this ad is less likely to perform well in the future, and will display the ad less often as a result.

For any given ad unit, we select the best ad to run based on its bid and historical performance. Therefore, if you are not receiving as many clicks or impressions as you would like, we suggest increasing your maximum CPC or CPM bid. We also suggest making sure your ad is as relevant as possible by targeting your ad to the most appropriate audience. Your ad is more likely to perform better and continue running successfully if it is being displayed to the users who are likely to be the most interested in your ad and click on your ad. You may want to experiment with multiple versions of your ad text and targeting to see which one generates the best results.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for contacting Facebook,

Well no shit.

^^ HAHAHAHA that's why I don't even bother contacting pathetic FB. I've tried in the past and it's a waste of fucking time. We just have to wait and perhaps they will fix it.

I really wonder WTF goes on in there advertising department. I imagine it must be a great job if there is decent pay because you sure as hell don't have to do any work it would seem.
