NEW Facebook Ads

If your interface is broken, try using IE.
Ad creation was buggy on Mozilla earlier today but I managed to make it work again using IE 8.
Strange stuff is, the ad manager was loading fine on Mozilla yesterday.

i am also seeing a drop in impressions and CTR. They put that new "Like" thing in today. Seems like lots of small changes coming out.

I wonder if people are hitting the "X" thinking it will close the ad section of the page. It actually does the same as the old "thumbs down" which reports the ad. I predict a lot more ads getting flagged.

That looks like it will only HELP since its not dislike.

If I like my ad, people connected to me will see that there friend likes it.

I wonder how exactly it works though.

BTW no drop in ctr here

so I'm a total noob to FB ads...

every time I start up a new campaign it dies out after 60k-80k impressions delivered over the course of a few hours.

if I clone the ad multiple times within the campaign, or even into multiple new campaigns, it just spreads out the impressions across all of the ads. it seems like some sort of daily impression limit.

i'm bidding right in the middle of the suggested price range ($0.70), and the ctr varies between 0.04% to 0.07%. I know I need a higher CTR to get more impressions, but I can't split test or even establish a statistically significant number of clicks without more impressions per day.

I've increased the campaign limits to $50k but my actual account limit is still $50. could it be that it's not giving me many impressions because it's trying to "pace" them throughout the day? it's only actually spending about $20 a day at this rate.

any help will be appreciated greatly, thanks.

you need to get a better CTR ad. They will not give you many impressions at the recommended bid if your CTR is shitty like that. You would have to jack your bids up way high in order to get anything on 0.04% - 0.07%.

Get an ad that is 0.10% or better and then try to improve on that.

thanks for that, I'm just going to have to keep submitting unique ads until I find something with a higher CTR.

another question: do the ads within a campaign influence one another?

for examaple, will a low CTR ad drag down the performance of a higher CTR ad within the same campaign?

should I submit my dozens of unique dating ads within the same campaign, or all within separate campaigns?

Ironically, no impression problems on my end tonight.. lol. I was the one whining about severe impression problems last week. Now it seems you guys are getting hit, and I'm getting them in truckloads.

No interface problems either today so far, everything is working smooth and quick.

Huge impression drop here too. This is so retarded.

Honestly...you need people to "Like" your ads before you show impressions? Great business model.

I am so annoyed right now. I have an ad with .51% CTR bidding within the suggested range and I'm getting a trickle of impressions.

That is exactly the shit I went through last week. They wouldn't give me fucking impressions no matter what I did.

But now strangely - I'm seriously flooded with impressions here as we speak! Even ads that have 0.01 CTRs, no joke.

same... i really think me and you are on the same cycles

Not only am I getting shit for impressions today, but I can't get any ads approved either. Ahhhh!

I have the ads approval problem too. I submitted like 100 ads in 3 different languages and all have been rejected, 80% saying that the text doesn't match the advertised site. For all FB reps :action-smiley-052:.

For those who had their accounts on auto-approval, are your advertisements now getting reviewed? Shoot me a PM if you're on the same boat.

like

im guessing this is to do with the like function, impressions dropped shortly thereafter its kickoff.

Here is the PDF I was sent on how it works from FB (useless) Ill get rid of this tomorrow.

"[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial] Hope you are doing well. As you may have already noticed, we are replacing the thumbs up and thumbs down icons in ad space with “Like” and “X”. Below I’ve included information on why we made this change and how it works. Please feel free to reply to this email with suggestions/feedback and I’ll be sure to forward this on to the product team.

Rationale for implementing: “Like” and “X” are familiar actions Facebook users use to attribute value to various objects on the site. In addition, this change supports our mission to increase engagement by allowing users to express themselves and share this expression with their friends (see the attached social action implementation screenshot). When a user “likes” an ad, their friends will be able to see that action in their version of the ad.

How it works: It works the same as thumbs up and thumbs down plus the social action part. “Like” and “X” are a way for users to give us quick and easy feedback on the ads they are seeing. We take this feedback into account as we continue to improve our advertising systems for all advertisers and users. If a user chooses a positive rating for an ad, the status in the add changes to “Like” and subsequent impressions delivered to their friends will include the action (ed. Andrew liked this ad.). If the user chooses “X”, a dialog box will be initiated asking for them to quantify why (e.g. offensive, repetitive, etc). Their rating impacts ad delivery in the same ways thumbs up and thumbs down did. The users’ ratings may not immediately affect how often they see that ad or similar ads."
