NEW Facebook Ads

Fourth here. CPC bids doubled, and traffic is down 2x. On the other hand, it's converting better than other days hah.

suggested bids have been increased? well no shit, just look at the adboard - tons of branders. fb obviously loves it.

These suggested bid prices are fucking insane. There is no way this happened without artificial help from FB in 24 hours.

there were 3 major branding campaigns on FB today. Couple that with Myspace also pulling in two big brands today and traffic was def down.

I know for a fact that the click prices doubled or tripled in the main 5 Anglophone countries since yesterday, right around midnight eastern time. I keep an eye on these 5 daily, even though I'm normally not running in most of them.

I also know that prices in some western european markets suggesteds have triped and in some cases quadrupled since last week, but since I never run things there I only check once a week or so.

It's affected so much that they've probably either broken something in their backend again or they're trying to see how much they can get out of local advertisers/branders.

do you actually use these suggested bids?

I might would look at them on a brand new niche that I was testing but I couldn't tell you the last time anyone in my office has seen it.

I had a few ads today running great traffic. I had suggestion bids of .70+. I bid 0.42. Ran it at that rate for 5 hours, sustained a 0.15 CTR, my suggestion bids dropped to .15-20. I dropped it to 0.17. Traffic has been coming in strong.

Never use them.

I keep an eye on them though and guage how much traffic I get compared to the recommended, I think they give a vague idea as to what a good bid is but I only actually bid in the suggested amounts about 5% of the time.

However, my traffic's been cut in half today and I haven't touched the bids.

Same on my end. Great ctr, great cpm for them and bid prices double what I usually see for the same traffic. Put up a bunch of new creative thinking that would maybe do it but even with an increase in ctr and cpm still bids were double what I've seen in the past. Something is jacked or some big buys just happened? Contacted my rep and they said they'd look into it and that I wasn't the first to bring it to their attention.

not only has suggesteds doubled but now i'm receiving close to 90% apps traffic.. YEEHAW FACEBOOK..

I had an ad get approved and run for awhile and then i decided to change up the ad text and image and now the ad wont get approved. its the same offer direct linked but now it won't get approved anyone know why? One weird thing is that i got two emails one said the ad got approved and then it got disapproved anyone know what could cause this? they point to some advertising guideline error in the disapproval reason that has nothing to do with what i changed with this new ad. anyone have any idea what they are trying to tell me?
They're telling you that they're confused.

On a more serious note, the approval standards for ads at FB has been known to be highly inconsistent. Whether your ad gets approved really depends on who is reviewing it and when he is reviewing it. Sometimes, ads which are obviously not within guidelines get slipped through the system as well. Bottomline is - you'll never know what's acceptable unless you keep trying.

there were 3 huge branding campaigns going on RON yesterday. Most likely culprit as to why inventory was slack. Plus we see Tues as the slowest traffic day (atleast for our ads) of the entire week.
