NEW Facebook Ads

well the thing is i check referrers and it used to be like facebook.com would be like a 2.00 epc and apps would be like a 40 cent.. now its fb = 80 cent and apps = .20ish..

i mean this happened overnight.. its not like it was gradually decreasing.. it was a huge decrease in one night.. and its sticking there..

Was it the night from the 4th to the 5th?

nah it happened last monday.. had a ridiculously good weekend conversion wise better than i'd had in a while.. then my epc fell off the face of the earth..

but up until last monday i usually ran solid epcs ranging above 1.20.. then on that weekend before last monday i ran like a 2.00 epc those 2 days.. then monday 55 cents.. tues 60 cents.. wed 60.. and so on..

i've never had epcs this low and i've been doing the same thing with the same ads since i started.. i wouldn't think much of it.. but it's such a drastic drop in one night..

one of my friends conversions split last night.. then another friend on the first..

Weird so it didn't happen on the same night for everyone.

Could it be clickfraud again? None of the CTR's seemed to increase though.

i been watching ips religiously .. i emailed matt @ facebook about the situation we'll see if he's heard anything..

Seems like we've established something is wrong. Too many people have seen drops in conversion rates for it to be a coincidence.

What's weird is that it apperantly didn't happen for everyone at the same time. I'd say that excludes a policy change at facebook. If that was the case it should have happened at the same time for everyone.

Clickfraud seems fairly unlikely too since again, it didn't start for everyone at the same time and so far no one reported an unusual increase in CTR.

Anyone have a guess to what happened?

I hate to break it to you but 6 people bitching on WickedFire about conversion rates clickfraud does not make.

Lol. But I actually was interested in what you meant, so can you say it in Buddha talk now instead of Yoda? My Jedi is kinda rough.

Sorry, what I'm saying is a small number of people saying their EPCs are dropping doesn't mean there is a huge amount of click fraud on FaceBook. If you remember the last Facebook shit hit the fan fraud incident everyone was posting to complain. Not saying it isn't happening, it's just right now there isn't enough evidence to say it is.

A bot originating from a Linux box at Facebook just clicked through about 200 of my ads in one of my accounts. Seemed to only go through ads that have been active in the last month or two. Ads paused for longer were not touched. StatsRemote registered all the clicks as genuine. No conversions, obviously, so my EPCs for the day are now jacked.

Guessing they're looking for cloaking or banned offers?

Last time I saw this happen was just before all the grants and google cash ads got booted back in Jan.

Well I would be thinking the exact same but it's not that EPC's just dropped. If they would have dropped over a week by having increased CPC and lower conversion rate, I would think: crap, the offer is going to shit.

But what seemed to have happend to a lot of people is that conversion rates just crashed by 60-70% over night. There's just no way that happened naturally across several offers and verticals all at once.
