NEW Facebook Ads

epc's dropped here but still doing fine... change up your creative... i saw someone post 3 months using the same thing... your demo 20 million? or you spend 20 dollars a day? 3 months of seeing the same ad on a site that people use as addicts... not good

unless its this ad

Suggestion bids on my new ADs ( about 10) have dropped this morning 1/2. No traffic has been sent to them yet, just got that drop. At .40 range right now. Hopefully things are starting to go back to normal.

It's not the drop in EPC that's worrying me (although it ends up being the issue), it's the drop in conversion rates. CTR is still just fine so I don't think it's the ad creative or anything else related to things I can influence.

I love how some local politicians and restaurants apparently target the entire nation.

Facebook is fucking retarded. Set-up roughly 150 ads last night at less than half suggested bids...let's say I set them at $0.40 when the suggested bid is $1.00

Woke up this morning to some of the ads bid prices turning into $1.00 and one of the $0.40 ads saying it has 300 clicks. I check my tracking and the total clicks I've received so far is roughly 30 and the 300 clicks ad didn't even receive 1 click (according to my subid tracking.)

Just emailed affiliates@facebook.com, let's hope this thing gets resolved.

They refused an ad twice, yet it seems to follow their stupid rules.

How difficult they are for a company that loses money...

If you're using fbadmanager, the bids don't always get put in, so it uses the suggested bid from facebook.

i have 8 campaigns running today all have 300+ clicks all pretty much the same ads and demos. 7 = 50 cent epc, 1 = 1.20 epc

i'm sure thats just a weird coincidence and nothing weird is going down..

i wouldn't think anything weird was going down if this drop off in conversions didn't happen over night..

nah it happened last monday.. had a ridiculously good weekend conversion wise better than i'd had in a while.. then my epc fell off the face of the earth..

but up until last monday i usually ran solid epcs ranging above 1.20.. then on that weekend before last monday i ran like a 2.00 epc those 2 days.. then monday 55 cents.. tues 60 cents.. wed 60.. and so on..

i've never had epcs this low and i've been doing the same thing with the same ads since i started.. i wouldn't think much of it.. but it's such a drastic drop in one night..

one of my friends conversions split last night.. then another friend on the first..

Same exact time for me too. Overnight turned to shit.

Kind suggestion-
A) dont bid cpc, bid cpm
B) FB ad mgr doesnt always set the bids perfectly, NOR does fb..refresh or be sure the bids are set correctly before loggin out IMO...
C) Fb @ aff.com shd be able to get you a credit- but youll need to provide them with proof about the fake clicks (bots etc)

Sorry if this has been covered before, but is Facebook ever planning to release an advertising API?

Yup, as of last week a few select agencies are testing it and apparently FB plan to roll it out to a wider audience within the next month. But its unclear whether it will be fully open or invite only. Its also unclear whether it will be free or have a transaction cost like the Adwords API.

Thing is, the press for the API talks about how great it will be because it will allow direct response marketers (us) to split test ads to a ridiculous level, as we'll be able to roll out our own tools that will be able create thousands of variations of the same ad very, very quickly.

But, if the API is fully publicly open, how the fuck will they moderate all of those ads? Approval times will go through the roof, and it just opens the floodgates for abuse. That suggests to me that it will be invite only but we'll see I guess.
