NEW Facebook Ads

Good luck getting an ROI on that.

I was looking for a recap of the FB discussion at ASW, and read this little nugget on John Chow's blog:

"Alex Schultz of Facebook said this may the last year for affiliates to take advantage of Facebook Ads because they’re getting so big, they are attracting the big brand advertisers who will eventually push out the affiliate marketer."

I wish i heard the direct quote 'cause it sounds like what he really said is they're following Google's footsteps to try and push affiliates out.

Your exactly right Facebook is following in Google's footsteps and it will push all of us out in 10-12 months. I will get a positive ROI with the right targets, but its not the same anymore. No way could I ever bid CPM on this and I have to deal with outrageous CPC prices so my margin will be minimal.
Its a real shame, at least I squeezed enough out of facebook to buy myself a car lol

That sucks but the good thing is that alot of schools still need affiliates to send leads to them so even though alot of the big advertisers will step in and we will loose them as part as are money makers there are still alot of great edu offers that make great margins for example mycriminaljusticecareers.com this was one of my best campaigns epc is like anywhere between 70 - 90 cents and you can bid a cpm on it and get it to back out.

Do you honestly have nothing better to do than to tell me to check my spelling. Go make some money or something and stop worrying so much about other people. All I'm doing is putting my input on what someone had posted on here there is no need for you to troll and to sit and correct me behind a computer screen. EXTREMELY ANNOYING! and immature.

Much better. Please maintain comprehensible verbiage. Thank you.

^^ LOL she's a girl i believe
Pr0xy knows this. He's dreaming of me wearing a strap-on.

Back to Facebook. I ran some ads months ago, and recall pausing the ads before approval, going back into ad editing and being able to add several characters to the headlines past the 25 character limit. The limit was 29 I think.

I just tried to do this again, and it's been changed. No editing allowed without reapproval. Has anybody else noticed this?

Any changes, including CPC to CPM, trigger a review. The only thing that doesn't require a review is changing a bid.

if you change the ad text, it's reviewed.
if you change the targeting, it's reviewed.
if you spend too much on a certain campaign/ad, it's reviewed. (and sometimes retro disapproved)
if you have high CTR, it's reviewed (and retro disapproved)

no money to be made here. All ads that are profitable are automatically banned. move along.

Doesn't anybody get sick of people saying this? yeah everyone gets the joke its only been done a million times on here, fuck off dicktree.

Anyway, I run a legitimate online retail business selling unique products, and facebook ads are very profitable for me. Surprisingly I cannot get it profitable anywhere else, which is a bit of a puzzle.

Anyone else notice a lack of traffic today?

I've been hitting my spend limit for almost a month now (I bid CPM) but so far today only $10 has been spent =/ Seems like nothing is getting impressions.
