NEW Facebook Ads

squeezing affiliates even more now.... received this email today.

[FONT=Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial]I just wanted to let you know about a current guideline that the policy team will be strictly enforcing going forward that might affect your current or future ads.

We’ve received significant negative feedback over the past few weeks about ads that call out users' personally identifiable information in the ad copy. While we encourage the use of Facebook's targeting options, as this allows users to see ads that are of high interest and relevance. However, as noted in section 7a of the Facebook Ad Guidelines, "any targeting of ads based on a user attribute, such as age, gender, location, or interest, must be directly relevant to the offer". Ads that unnecessarily call out user attributes in the ad creative or landing page are in violation of this guideline and run contrary to Facebook’s overall advertising philosophy.

They policy team is asking that you edit or delete any ads that which employ this tactic and do not submit any new ads that call out personally identifiable user attributes, including but not limited to age, gender, workplace, school or location. Otherwise, ads that remain active are subject to removal and their performance history lost. This includes ads with landing pages edited to appear relevant to the target group; if the offer advertised is available to a larger demographic, ads may not use any user's personally identifiable information to imply that the offer is limited to that group. That's ridiculous, you can't even target individuals tightly if the offer is available for a larger demographic. Total BS.. Eliminating the option to use one of the most basic marketing principles there is. You gotta scratch your head at some of the decisions these guys make.

Why would a fb user complain about that? Because they don't understand how an ad knows their age / location? I don't get it...

Gmail reads your email and on that decides what ads to serve. Who cares?

It's ridiculous how rapidly and frequently they change their policies to please user experience. I'm not sure they've realized that their little "X" system is completely flawed and encourages complaints.

FB users will complain about any ad they see frequently, and a couple days later a new policies get put into place so not to disrupt everyone from holding hands and singing kumbaya in their virtual world.

your posts are some of the dumbest shit I have ever read

nope.. .01 increase over the last week for me (for running campaigns, and I just checked suggested bids are the same)

No you are by far the dumbest piece of shit anyone has ever seen LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLZ.

Okay, so let me get this straight:

Does pausing ads/campaigns really fuck up your impressions/CTR? Following recommendations in this thread, I've been "pausing" my campaigns by setting my budgets to $1. But that sort of ruins the CTR later on because the impressions still trickle throughout the day on the $1 budget.

Is Pausing safe?
Hopefully Darkn1ght comes in for an answer, ive een wondering the same - he really knows his shit, just look at his recent posts.

I know this may be difficult for you to understand but not everybody is targeting the exact same fucking demographics that you are.

What really pisses me off is the ad goes under review when switching from CPC to CPM. Why the fuck must they review the ad again.

These motherfuckers love to slow me down.

They are cracking down on this but I can guarantee you 100% that you can still get ads like this through... Just did it today. You have to make it seem as though the demographic you are using in your ad is somehow required, or needed to get the offer across and you shouldn't have any problems. Just keep submitting them.

lol your a joke

The minimum bid is .02... just bid 3 cents on top of that and you'll be fine. :moon:

What demographic? I dont think you can get any US traffic with a .02 CPM bid now. I was able to get traffic dirt cheap up until about 3 days ago.

you're the hotshot spending 1g a day.. that's why i was hoping you would come her to chime in

Then you will be happy to know that I recently increased my FB spending :)

First off, 2+3 is still 5. Second, you still haven't figured out the difference between minimum and suggested bids. Congratulations, you're still an idiot.

Bidding the minimum is not going to get you any traffic... lol Dont know how that makes me an idiot I didn't say anything about min. or suggestion bids lol
