NEW Facebook Ads

All my ads, and I mean every single one of them, were head shots with no cleavage, no nothing in the picture. Some ads don't even show the neck. All my dating campaigns were completely compliant... Compliant text, compliant images, targetting correct demos... clueless as to why I got this. Oh well.

I have several friends who are doing a ridiculous amount of dating and who did not get this.

It seems like it only applies to older accounts. Considering I've never ran scammy shit on FB, I have no idea which ads had poor user feedback.

If the ad gets negative feedback it will be retro dissed, and the reason for the diss (negative user feedback) will show up in the diss email they send you.

I don't see how someone could have gamed this many accounts and Facebook hasn't done anything about it yet.

I think they're going after people with the geo, age targeted ads and the free and coupon offer ads.

I think this is the fall out of a few articles that were published. My budgets are fine, so far.

I have multiple fb ad accounts and I have a rep too and I've good relations with him.

Haven't gotten the email yet, but would definitely suck balls to get one.

I don't run anything shady or questionable and my rep knows it... No free stuff, free trials, email/zip submits, no dating.

Oh well, isn't it time to move on already? Didn't we figure out that one can't rely on facebook for all their traffic?

For all small to mid sized affiliates who rely on self serve ad platforms - try adwords, myads, plentyoffish or direct site media buying. So if one or two traffic sources go wrong, your revenue doesn't hit the bottom.

On the flip side, it's going to be interesting to see the bids go down coz most affiliates won't be spending more than than 500$/day.

I got this same bullshit email too "Limit decreased to $500 for poor ad quality" I don't run dating or anything shady, my ads are approved a good 90+% of the time and I advertise in countries your great grandparents probably only remember...even if it were the case you telling me people with no running water are going to be pissed off at a "misleading" ad?? I think its some bot doing this..

Plus whats the deal to reducing your spend limit? Its like telling someone "ohh your suicidal? Ok gimme back that machine gun and take this glock"..spend has no relevance to ad quality...I think its either a bot like I mentioned above, or they are hounding affiliates strictly using CPM, cause maybe CPM models are taking up too much CPC revenue..

I received the notice on an account that hassn't ran any ads in at least 3 months. I think if it were a bot, it would've only effected ads/accounts that were running in the past few days. Not to say bots didn't contribute to Xing out ads, but it seems to be a new FB initiative.

I know a couple guys in here got this notice a couple days ago as well.

+1 here, got the email for one of my accounts to. Sounds like they just cut off a big part of their ad revenue. Maybe this has been the plan all along, keep affiliates until their advertiser portfolio was a bit more balanced. I don't think it's affiliates in particular that they're after, just the poor quality offers and/or false promises that most of us use to push our offers.

Then again.. maybe it's really someone gaming the system. If they did it right, FB wouldn't be able to tell and may just continue their warpath on the falsely accused ads.

Exact same experience. My ads were not misleading or shady. They added this in a subsequent reply:

FROM: Facebook Affiliate Team
...In this effort we have looked most closely at reasoned feedback, specifically "offensive" and "misleading." While I can't provide you with specific ads at the moment that have been generating this feedback, I can offer insight into the trends we have been seeing in terms of offers.

Free product ads – while these are no longer allowed, they have had a strong negative user reaction, many categorize this ads as offensive/misleading
Subscription offers – also strong feedback indexing high on offensive/misleading. I would begin to reconsider running offers for the Make a Baby and How old will you look ads.
Financial offers (insurance, debt reduction)
- car crash offers indexed high for offensive feedback, misleading language such as "new stimulus package allows you to..."
Dating offers –
very negative feedback if the images are provocative

We are also strongly recommending that you explore new verticals that generate lower amounts of negative user feedback such as retail, gaming, and education. I would love for you to send me new creatives and campaigns as you create them. I will be checking in with you daily to update you on progress you have made in improve this user feedback score.

I LOVE how they called out specific campaigns like Make A Baby

I just got this

"
It has come to our attention that your ads rank among the poorest quality in our ads system. A large number of users have expressed that your ads are "misleading" and/or "offensive". As an effect, your advertising account daily spend limit has been lowered to $500 USD. If your ad quality improves, your account will be reevaluated. "

Is someone voting down competition? My facebook ads have never been misleading, unlike many I've seen.
