NEW Facebook Ads

+1 here, got the email for one of my accounts to. Sounds like they just cut off a big part of their ad revenue. Maybe this has been the plan all along, keep affiliates until their advertiser portfolio was a bit more balanced. I don't think it's affiliates in particular that they're after, just the poor quality offers and/or false promises that most of us use to push our offers.

Then again.. maybe it's really someone gaming the system. If they did it right, FB wouldn't be able to tell and may just continue their warpath on the falsely accused ads.

It could be both. I received a notice on an account I haven't ran ads on for months, which is saying that these emails are getting sent out based on past data. It's definitely possible that if a bot(s) was/is running, it could have been running for months, and then it could have impacted that past data.

The decision to send the email is probably not an anti-affiliate move; performance advertising stands to grow on FB and constitutes a majority of ad spend as is. It's definitely a move to get rid of misleading ads.

The thing that drives me nuts about this is I don't run misleading shit on facebook. No "you could make $100 / hr being a cop", no "free ipod testers needed", no "hey 30 yr old males in alabama, car insurance for $17 a year / new debt laws for you!!!"

I've been squeaky clean when I could have been banking on that garbage and instead its like I had been running it.

thanks for the increased inventory bros

if your account is new... there is a higher chance it got hit.... older accounts seemed to have got hit with less of those emails

I feel you, if FB were my father today would be the day I turned to hard drugs or turned gay...

I also got the email.

Everything is clean. Doing exclusively dating, almost exclusively targetting females with head shots of men. Pretty tame account......jeez.

Sometimes its what you say not what you look like.
Aw well you guys will have to live on $500 a day for a while looks like.

Seems pretty stupid though if they're that into the user feedback you'd think they'd build it into their CPC algorithm.

Shhh...don't give them ideas, they already stole the current ad editing interface from Google, don't need them copying QS as well.

Isn't the like/dislike scoring basically a modified version of G qs anyways? Instead of goog bots scoring a page/site, Fb users in effect are..

And on that subject...makes me think..hmm..is anyone gaming this system...

Adwords quality score is mostly derived from CTR anyway, which is the users "voting"

Could very well be a competition removal bot, but it could also be some sort of policy change; no reason why that wouldn't exist and if someone has access to hundreds of profiles on different ips wouldn't be too hard at all.

I'm guessing someone will hear from their rep at FB soon and more details will be provided as to the specific nature of this - too many people got hit with it for some of the bigger spenders to be left with no detailed explanation.

I received it on an older account that I used for a test some time ago. The funny thing is that it only had a $250 limit :) and they say the limit will be reduced to $500.
