Hey Everyone,

I have only promoted on adwords and adcenter by using my affiliate links and the landing pages in my ads. I know its essential to create a website. Where should I start, what programs should I use? Please give me any feedback or suggestions. Thanks

Amy

Do a search for html tutorials. You don't need a program to start. Dreamweaver is a good one though, but it still helps a lot to know code.

Honestly though, if you have no experience in website design, the learning curve will be pretty steep. If you're a savvy businessman and believe you can make it in the AM biz, outsource this work to professionals.

Get the landing pages (sites) created with QS (and even SEO) in mind.

Hey Amy,

Hope this helps:

If you want an easy-to-use program to create websites, I suggest Website Maker. You can pretty much learn the whole program in an hour or so. It's a WYSIWYG editor (what you see is what you get). You can find it on download.com by searching for "website maker". It costs $30 or so to register, but it's worth it. I still use that program to create a few of my websites.

It supports HTML and Javascript, BUT, it doesn't support CSS or PHP, so if that is your thing, maybe you'd be better off using more expensive software. But, for a simple site (20 pages or less), it should work just nice and it's extremely user friendly and has very informative and in-depth help files. Plus, it has a built-in FTP publisher, so it's all you need to get your sites live. I highly recommend it (and no, I don't work for them).

If you're trying to create a very complex website, try Dreameaver.

Good luck!

There is really no one right way to get started developing sites but how I got started was with just a text editor (notepad) and hand coding. Still to this day, I hand code when developing sites because I personally don't like not know what is in the coding when using WYSIWYG programs. For most beginners, WYSIWYG programs are great however I would recommend using both a text editor and WYSIWYG so you can learn how to code too.

Yeah, I started coding using only notepad, too. But now that I have a pretty good grasp on how HTML works and how to code it, I don't feel any guilt using a WYSIWYG because I know how to edit the code manually if I have to, and I'm not fully relying on an editor. However, using an editor is a timesaver. :D
