Just sent a support ticket but I'll post here just to see if anyone else has noticed this. Installed v1.4. I create a new content block but it never actually creates. I hit save...still says no content block. I tried on 2 different blogs. I went back to the previous version until I figure it out since it won't post any content without the block being created.

Deactivate, then reactive the plugin and it should work fine.

It happens when the content blocks database table doesn't create correctly.

WTB v1.4.1

v1.4.1
is out and addresses a number of issues:

  • Fixed tabs not expanding bug (plugin conflict)
  • Fixed redirect for help links
  • Altered proxy usage logic to fix small bug
  • Added settings link to plugin activation page
  • "last run" and "total runs" now increment for content blocks
  • Fixed bug preventing posting to specific category
  • Added a "clear log" button
  • "Tweet too short" bug fixed (was a plugin variable conflict)
  • Added error message when plugin folder is incorrectly named (temp fix)

Remember to deactivate and delete your current version before installing a new one.
All your settings will be kept intact.

If you notice any major bugs that this version doesn't address submit a support ticket and I'll do a v1.4.2 before releasing v1.5.

FINAL NOTICE:
Once v1.5 is out I will be raising the price of WTB to $97 for the standard and $197 for the pro version to reflect the power and feature set of this plugin. If you want to get WTB at the current discounted price (and all future updates) then get moving :)

Last time you'll see these buttons...

OK I have been using this for a few days now and it looks really promising. I am definitely getting considerable traffic, it is very easy to set up, does everything as promised, and works great. I did have to have support install mbstring to get it to work but I believe this is fixed in the latest version(?). Spamhat is claiming v1.5 will be the best autoblogging software available. I dunno if that's true or not, but I can definitely say that this plugin kicks ass just the way it is. That being said I'm getting wet thinking about future updates and will definitely be upgrading for more licenses.

One concern I have is that there is a huge discrepancy between the traffic reports I am getting between bit.ly, google analytics, wp stats, and my server stats. V1.4's stats implementation seemed to somehow get wp stats to start working but I am still not really sure which of these is the most accurate. If anyone can shed light on this it would be awesome.

I would be weary with twitter, I was hitting a little too hard and today I got 100 accounts banned. Over 3-4 days i had over 6k hits though (according to bit.ly). You will need a lot of accounts to make this effective.

Another thing I am wondering is what you guys are doing with bit.ly for multiple installs? Are you creating different usernames or separating them in anyway?

Final words: Anyone who needs autoblog software should be getting this while its hot. Which is right now.

I ordered the "Pro" today - had some trouble downloading but that's because I was on the computer that I use for a specific client and the browser has to be IE (don't even ask about that, it annoys the tar out of me).

I have a promotion in mind for this starting in the next week or so.

Just bought the pro. After reading everything I just couldn't say no for $77... Will give this a go this week.

I have the same question. My WP Statpress Reload always gave me much more visitors numbers than Google Analytics. I am really confused.

nevermind i finally got it after 3x :) and used FF instead of ie
Thanks

Cool :)
I'll check into the IE thing.

Yep - you shouldn't need this anymore.

Well, "best" is subjective, but it will certainly have a more powerful feature set ;)

This is a common problem. Almost every stats package will give different results because they all track visits in slightly different ways. There is no absolute figure because it depends how YOU want to count things. Do you count a 1 second bounce as a visit? How do you tell sneaky spiders apart from real human visitors? Is the stat package using JavaScript tracking or just an image/click? What formula is being used to crunch the numbers? How long is the cookie length? There's plenty of questions that each package answers differently and each has it's pros and cons.

The most reliable way to check your figures is to know exactly what you want to look for and parse your raw log files on the server. Everything else is guesswork. Having said that I certainly can't be bothered to do that all the time so I use Google Analytics for WH sites and my own code for BH sites. All these figures are more like benchmarks that you can use to improve upon.

I've had almost nothing banned out of about 1k accounts, but I only tweet 2 times per post. As you say you can push it for more clicks and exposure, but it's risky - especially if you're running more than one copy of WTB on the same IP.

Another thing I am wondering is what you guys are doing with bit.ly for multiple installs? Are you creating different usernames or separating them in anyway?

For any special sites I create a separate bit.ly account, but run most stuff through one main one. You can't break down the stats on a per-site basis with bit.ly but I'm not too bothered.

Hey, how can I go ahead and pay the $30 upgrade fee for the upgrade to the pro?

Sent you an email.

Hmmm - more IE weirdness. Was sure I tested the download in all browsers. Checking...

Awesome - any questions let me know :)

Work is coming along nicely for the ad blocks feature in v1.5 btw ;)

Hey spamhat I would like to buy this plugin. I would also like to buy 100 twitter accounts and use this plugin with all my WP sites. You mentioned that you bought some for 19 dollars care to share where please I just searched the forum but could not find anything. Or is there a bot that can do this part of the process for me?

I have bought some from seoworks09 here @ WickedFire before, but I saw a post recently forbidding selling Twitter accounts on this forum. If you contacted him off the forum he might be able to help you - or check out some other forums.

At some point I may look into building an account creator into the plugin but I'm not holding my breath as mass creation from 1 IP is a fast way to get them all canned.

The progress on v.15 is quicker than anticipated, so you should expect it soon btw ;)

This is true, but I've used another product that mass produces accounts for other online services that has a built in proxy which the user populates with IP addresses. It then rotates the IPs to avoid this problem. It was very handy. I would love to see something like that for this.

I second Keith. Anyway, twitter accounts are critical to WTB. Without twitter accounts, the selling points of WTB is no longer there. We cannot rely on unstable external services to do the job. If there are accounts creation functions coming handy, I am pretty sure no other autoblogging software can compete with it in terms of content and traffic, two major factors of IM. If Spamhat can add something for ads and templates, then the conversion part is going to be taken care of.

It will be a few versions away before I'll have chance to look into this. Are you OK manually entering the captchas btw?

The benefits of writing my own system would be that I can create the account in the exact way that makes them last the longest which no one else does (that I've seen).

Ad blocks coming in v1.5 :)

I love the idea. Personally, I have no problem entering my own captchas. The programing it would take to auto solve captchas would be crazy.
