Newb looking for SEO tips

So i've been building websites and doing design for a long time. I haven't really stepped to far into the murky waters of Affiliate Marketing, but over the past year or so i've been reading through this site and liking it. Recently, I decided to experiment by creating my own eBook, making a website for it, and subsequently trying to market it. The URL is The Web Design Ebook.

My question. Basically, what can I do aside from Meta Tags and linkbuilding? I was hoping this thread would be a good resource for other fellow newbs. I've tried to parse through a lot of the stickies and i've got a few more ideas but nothing concrete. I felt this would be a good experiment and experience in internet marketing. Thanks in advance for your help!

on page seo is comprised of much more than just meta tags.

there's more than enough info here to get you going in the right direction. Look for a few case study threads in the T&C section to get started.
