No Fills Hosting

I have been looking at hosting solutions and I came up with the idea of no frills hosting. eg you get the hosting account where you can store say 2gb for $2 per month but you get zero support and no guaranteed backups as a part of it. would this be something that ppl would be interested in do you think or even more importantly do you think that anyone on here would be interested in this?

subigo I can see where you are coming from but any free webhost usually has the catch of having ads somewhere to fund for the account creation. having it without ads and with a tiny charge surely this would be lucrative... right?

I suppose you could find some people willing to go for it... but there are literally hundreds of free hosts these days with no catch (other than it takes days for support to get back to you). And then there's always shell account hosting, which is basically what you are talking about... You can get a shell account for a few bucks a year and it comes with webspace.

But hey, go for it, just be prepared to suspend people on a daily basis, because something that cheap will just be a gathering place for spammers and scam sites.
 
I wouldn't buy hosting services that have no Support. When my sites get down or something fails who I am suppose call or write to fix it?
