I've been out of the IM and promoting of other peoples products for a while, and haven't looked into it yet.

Don't the companies of the product you are promoting supply you with images/banners/text etc. which they want you to use in marketing their stuff.

If they allow you to create your own landing page/banners etc. -- do they preview it before they allow it or has all the rules changed regarding this?

(I'll find out soon enough - but thought I'd ask, as there may be others wondering about this too)

cheers

Depends on who you're signed up with. Normally what they give you is what they give you, you'd have to create/write the rest to push the product/service.

I don't think they preview any graphics or such you create. Most of the ones I've just seen, you login, pick an offer, use their link or supplied banner. And if you want to create a landing page, well that's all on you. The main thing you just gota watch out for is to read the advertizer's rules carefully.

For example if the offer doesn't allow incentivized traffic, don't create a landing page that says "Sign up for these offers, and win a free ipod" or something like that, just to get people to click and sign up. (people do it anyways, but if you get caught by your AM, usually means your account gets killed).

Anyways that's my 1month experience's worth. lol.

LOL @ kblessinggr talking about the rules - I have applied for several ads that states only US in the rules but got accepted to promote them. I was surprised because my account details indicates I'm not in the US, so my question is do you think they know and want me to promote it anyway but then stiff me when I do make a sale? Or do you supposed the screener missed to check my location. What can you say about this?

Typically when a offer says US only, it means that it only accepts US traffic. Not affiliates ;)

it depends on the offer and company. Affiliate networks that cater more to new affiliates have a lot of banners, but these are probably not the best converting banners anyway. Networks that don't try to cater to new affliates recognize that those who are actually going to bank hard will be making their own banners. All banners that you make should be submitted and approved as creatives in theory.
