Hey guys, so i have a buddy who's doing this affiliate marketing thing and is doing pretty well for himself, i asked how to get on-board..Of course he just said go to this website. I've been reading, writing down notes and shit and i get the gist of it. You get paid for marketing ppl's shit on a website. This is where it gets complicated for me, do i need to get a website, create one, WTF is a domain? I'm just tired of working a fucking rat-race management job and I'm looking for ways to venture out, make some dough and kill fuckers in COD, without having to hate my life for the next couple of years

awesome, that was short and sweet. I get it a domain links me to the internet and vice-versa. Here's the big question. how do i get started? do i need to get a website? can i create a free blog? do i need to build one? any suggestions or good articles... I've read a couple things on here but nothing too concrete for the steps and process to get started

Fuck you for starting your shitty thread in "Enlightened Members" section.

Actually, CookieMonster, if you had read what I posted you would know that "A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control in the Internet"

So let me ask you this before we go any further:

Why do you think you deserve to have administrative autonomy, authority, or control on the Internet?

i know where you stand, this forum is the correct destination. However anything posted after 2010 is largely trash. The good stuff is in threads older than that.

What I did when I started out reading WF was to try and get a feel for who is making money & sharing some of that knowledge vs. who's just a poser. Then I'd go through the post history of said individuals and read everything and eventually stumble over old threads that are filled with good information. Do that for a couple of days and you will get a feel for internet marketing and maybe even decide what you want to do.

+1 to start making your own mistakes.

Also I suggest you to go to the buy, sell, trade section and have a look at what is in demand nowadays. If lots of people use some specific service and come back for more, you can be sure that this method works well for seo.

Also you'd have a look at some ranking cases like

And other thread like that, cause those guys are doing really great job showing us how to rank websites with as small spends as it is possible.
