Not sure about the next step..

all right, i'm gonna start over here and trash the summer-fitness domain. what should i do with it if i'm not gonna use it, do i need to take the adsense off or anything?

so i'm gonna keyword search, buy a domain, and set it up with those HTML templates instead.
 


Good choice. You have learned alot anyway so don't worry!! Don't cancel anything, just stick a replacement static site up there. See how that goes. GO FOR AN EXACT MATCH KEYWORD IN DOMAIN. It doesnt matter if there is a low volume of searches. 1000 per month is acceptable for learning purpouses. The shorter the better. Not sure about hyphens - that is open to debate.

i've been doing some research on keyword search, but have just one question here.

high monthly search volume and low advertising competition is good i'm guessing? i found a longtail that has 6,000 per month searches and the competition is only 50%, i should obviously use this correct?
 
don't search by phrase, search by exact.

and before you assume there is no strong competition, go ahead and Google it to find out. Check out the backlinks, URLs, h1 tags and so on for the top spots. Check the keywords with allinurl and allintitle search parameters.

and read more. Go to the Traffic Content and read page after page until your eyes bleed.
