^^ So much this. Either...

a) You're not a fan of the Oatmeal because you find it too low brow for your superior intellect

or

b) Do you even marketing bro?

As my buddy said, "so this is basically pre ordering for an Oatmeal collectible". They could have just advertised their silly little card game through his website, and would have got a bit of press and links to it here and there, and sold a bunch. Instead they're going to capitalize on the deluge of free press and social media sharing they're going to get for what must be the fastest, or one the fastest, Kickstarter campaigns ever... and they'll sell a shit ton.

They've got us talking about it don't they?
